I'd rather have a chance at the #1 pick or not get the pick at all. I'm more interested in the Kings pick the following year.

So everyone already accepted, that the kings will be a desaster for the next years?

Well they used most of their cap space for next year on signing those veterans this summer. I'm not expecting a big jump barring some sort of massive internal improvement.
Though even if you think they'll be the worst team your expectation is still the 4th or 5th pick.

Re: 2017-2018 College Basketball / '18 NBA Draft Thread I
The true difference making prospects on their roster (Fox, Giles and Labissiere) are only 19 and 21, respectively. So they could be anywhere from 3-5 years out from having a major impact on winning.
Sacramento is in an unique situation where some of their ancillary pieces are getting to and approaching that mid-20s benchmark, and could get a team boost from the surrounding pieces maturing.
Next Year:
Cauley-Stein will turn 25
Hield will turn 25
Mason will turn 24
Jackson will be 23
Richardson will be 23

That looks like the best case scenario right now.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Re: 2017-2018 College Basketball / '18 NBA Draft Thread I
personally my opinion is that it's best if the pick conveys next year. This year's draft looks slot stronger then 2019 and I don't want Boston getting another high potential player when we will have to go through them for the next 6-8 years.
So if the pick doesn't convey this year I'd be looking at athletic combo players who can run with Ben. I'm high on Miles Bridges and Robert Williams at around that 6-9 lakers slot.
I'd also like to see, and wouldn't be shocked if it happens, us use a 2nd round pick on 6"5" 19yo Aussie pg William McDowell-White. Playing very well in Germany and has good size, athleticism and a high iq.

Hey draft watchers, great thread as usual.
Any SGs in the Laker pick range worth following?
Also, with Simmons defensive versatility on show, does this make a difference regarding our selections this year? For example, could we now look at a versatile 3/4?

Ham Diallo (Kentucky), Troy Brown (Oregon), Lonnie Walker (Miami) and Gary Trent (Duke) are the big names, but...
...My sleeper is M.J. Walker at Florida State.

I'm going to watch Kevin Knox this year.
Think he has great potential.
Would have a place as a future Sixer too imo (could replace Saric in the future as a SF/PF, with potential to play center in a small ball line-up).

Luka Doncic being #1 on ESPN's Big Board just confuses me.

Because of the hype he’s the European LeBron and everyone saying he’s the most advanced player they have ever seen at 18. I dome know if they are right or not. I can’t make an informed opinion on him because I haven’t seen enough tape.

He's excelled at the highest levels of European basketball and none of the freshman have played a real game above high school yet. Not exactly a fair comparison at this point.

Here's Doncic's most recent game. I mean, he's highly skilled and intelligent. I just don't see impressive physical tools.

I see deceptive athleticism.

I see a guy who won’t be able to guard anyone.

BC may have gifted this potential defensive force to Boston thanks to that Fultz trade. Good luck scoring on him if he’s wearing Celtic green.
