I am simply looking at things from the Pelicans perspective and see no urgency for them to move Ingram unless it’s for a massive haul or he wants to force his way out

As it stands, they’re at very long odds to make the playoffs and particularly in light of today’s Zion update

Trading Ingram for Fox won’t change that so they might as well spend some time assessing/developing the players that they have and seeing whether Zion/Val/Ingram fit together when they eventually play together

Maybe Ingram becomes available before the deadline but I wouldn’t bet on it happening anytime soon unless a team with different aspirations for the season offers them a boatload

Sounds like a Minnesota third teamer.

Does Danny give up his #14 for BI?

They'll trade Edwards to appease Towns. They can't trade their hall of fame lock 26 year old franchise player. Especially since they already made the Russell investment on his behalf. Go bring his other friend in and become a playoff team.

Trade all players except Embiid for Edwards, whatever it takes!

Minnesota is the one team I can't see tanking under any circumstance other than KAT going down for the year if they have any intention of him staying there long term. That clip speaks volumes - Edwards is gone.

I hope you guys are right. Minnesota press seems to think they would sooner trade Towns than Edwards. I mean, this is the team that bought into Wiggins, after all.

Edwards for Simmons would be an absolute win. I’d immediately offer Edwards and picks to OKC for Shai, then call the jeweler for fittings.

Devil’s advocate. Towns knows Edwards is shooting it, and that where he is, there’s no sense in trying to go for the offensive rebound. Seems like more is being made of it than what it is.

When the most positive angle is ‘it makes no sense to try’ you are in a bad situation.

It’s not like he waited til the shot, he started walking when he’s dribbling. This is just recognizing a ball stopper and quitting. Sad.

Why would OKC trade Shai for Edwards? Seems like they want to make him the primary block to build around. If we would prefer Shai in a second, what makes anyone believe that Presti doesn't feel the same way?

Presti tried to trade Shai to move up and get Cade Cunningham. He doesn't view him as untouchable.

That's probably what we would wind up doing. Doc loves Shai.

“You can coach him,” Rivers said. “You can get on him. He loves watching film. He loves working with the veterans. And he’s high character. I’ve always thought great young players, when they have high character and want to get better, they have a chance to be great. And Shai’s in that category.”

I'd probably just rather keep Edwards. I think he has more upside and would bring electricity to the WFC that we haven't had in a perimeter player since Iverson.

I think Towns asks out before it comes down to an Edwards vs Towns ultimatum.

KAT shares a lot of similarities with Young Socialite off the court actually.

Can see Simmons at OKC with a trade involving a third party. Longer the season goes, I can also see Nets trying to trade for Simmons.

IMO Shai’s peak is an All-NBA guy, and Edwards’ peak is an All-Star. And I’m much more confident in Shai reaching his peak.
