The Hawks defense is a joke, the Celtics should be blowing them up lol

Nice to see the Hawks avoid the sweep. Hopefully they can extend the series to 6 or 7 games but that is unlikely.

Well, if we can close the Nets out tomorrow that will be plenty of rest for Embiid. Hopefully the Hawks can get another one.

Nope. On the contrary. The guys are going to rally with the big guy down. I predict a full blowout.

Or we'll win and everyone will question how valuable Embiid actually is.

All season we practiced on switching, sending help and rotating to the shooters on defense while getting our guys unto their kill zones, spacing and getting the ball to shooters on offense and its paying off.

Turning it a spot up shooting contest where we have the best shooting % in the league and is the best in getting other teams to send doubles.

What if the Harden ejection was a distraction for the league after the entire NBA world was against the league on suspending Draymond?

These refs spent like 5 minutes reviewing the action, probably even call their headquarters for second opinions

Spoiler:
76ciology wrote:Been watching a lot of Celts clips. Celts vs Warriors finals. Celts vs Heat, Celts vs us this season and Celts vs Hawks.

Horford attempts the most 3s against us (7.7) and shoots at 43%. But despite all that he’s just averaging 10ppg on 9 shots.

The key to beat the Celts is for your big to sag into the paint to help protect the rim. The mistake with the Hawks is Capela is sticking too close to Al. So now, Celts does not only have a 5 out offense but they are also playing 4v3 with Trae being a liability on the floor.

Biid has challenged the most shots of Tatum and is limiting him to 34% shooting. But Tatum’s primary defenders are Melton, Tobi and Tucker, Tatum is shooting 50% on all 3.

Tobi and Harden defended Jaylen Brown the most and both guys are limiting Brown to 33% shooting.

Al Horford is bad in defending Embiid (64FG%) and Harden (67FG%). He’s the guy we need to target if they play 5 out. But Maxey can’t shake off DWhite and he’s just shooting 31% off him.

Blueprint:

dont stick too much on Al, give respect but also be open to leave him and rotate back. He’s not steph curry.

Hunt Al Horford on offense. By punishing them if they switch or if Al plays drop on defense.

One thing I’d like to see is Biid rolling and attacking ORebs

We need to communicate better on
- pick and pop (ball handler defender has to switch to Al popping)
- if Al at the corner and Al’s man comes to help the ball handler, the ball handler’s defender has to rotate to Al (hawks G3 4th qtr 4:20-4:00)
- cross match off transition (Sixers G2 and G3 against Celts on reg season)

Maybe this is the final win for the Hawks. But Hawks playing a very good blueprint to beat the Celts. Just need to refine switching and rotating on defense which they’ll be able to do as they get more experience playing this Celts

16% of our possessions is in ISO (highest this playoffs), scoring at 1.11 ppp. In comparison, Celts and Nets runs ISO at around 10.4-10.6%, Nets scores at 1.00ppp and Celts at 1.13ppp

I’ve already hopped into the bandwagon that Biid can carry a team to the championship, dont let me hop back out of it. This sh*t can’t keep happening every season.

I love Embiid, but I'm a Sixers fan first. It's not his fault, but I think we need to go in a different direction. Trade him and let Harden walk.

I will take these words back if we win the title this year :)

i’d say its not that serious unless he misses G1 against the Celtics.

Trae will go back to shooting like crap though, that's the issue.

Hawks needs a plan B in case that happens because Trae is very inconsistent. But I think they’re in the right direction and it wont be THAT easy for Celts to win it this series.

Just have a feeling it's going to be the old "pain management" thing again - he can play with it but only surgery will heal it.

I hate going there because it's ridiculous, but sometimes it really does appear this franchise is cursed.
