This one is for Olympics, not for FIBA world cup.
Even I had to check it again.

So no Sixers at all? Or Brunson? Just a bunch of Celtics...people are so short-sighted on what they just saw instead of what could happen by then.

Embiid on France would beat the hell out of that team by then. And Maxey, get your French citizenship to make sure they get their asses handed to them in LA.

That list just pisses me off.

TBH it's going to be tough for Maxey since there are so many young all-star caliber guards he'll have to beat out. Aside from the names listed, there's also guys like Brunson, Young, Mitchell, Garland, Haliburton (who I'm sure would see a bigger role next time), LaMelo, etc. who can easily get the nod over him.

Maxey has a chance to be the face of the NBA by then. More to come....

Maxey is awesome, and I expect the 2028 version of him to be pretty incredible. But there is a chance he just stagnates as a top 25-30 guy. As mentioned, there will be a lot of really good guards for him to beat out for the national team, so I think he'll need to keep upping his game to secure a spot.

Pretty unlikely he stagnates, he's comeback and leveled up every year. He probably has the best work ethic in the league. If he gets a midranger, and ups his facilitating even a little that's a top 10 guy right there. Then it's basically annual variance, which could possibly net him an MVP. I've said it before, at this age, he is right on that Steph at best Lillard at worst trajectory. That's basically between an MVP and a top 7-8 player in the league at their peaks. Maxey is that good.

Oh, I absolutely agree it's unlikely, just not impossible. Off the top of my head, my 50th percentile expectation for him is around top 10-12 from 2027-2030. Maybe a little higher since there's a changing of the guard about to happen.

We need to get our lead back up

It's wild. I have mad respect for Bron's dedication and commitment to his body.

I just can't ef with his legacy as a team hopper.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
