I'm really at a loss over why people love Gary Harris so much.

I actually like him. He does a lot of things well. I don't think he'll be an all-star, but I think he'll be a solid starting SG for many years. Plus, if we take Parker, we could use as many players who can defend as possible.

This will come across as annoying to many on here because I talk about him ad nauseam, but what makes him better than Jordan Adams, besides his ability to dunk?

Gary Harris has a standing reach of 8'....... No, I didn't forget the inches. Eight feet total. Gary Harris = Runt SG.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

I would say Harris is better defensively. Adams is more opportunistic than he is a good defender

But is he that much better defensively to warrant the 10th pick? I think Adams is better across the board except for man to man defense, and he's projected to go in the 20s.

Well Harris isn't my 1st choice, I'm jut saying I do like him. I think he's a good fit if we draft Parker. If we draft Embiid, or Wiggins Id rather grab Stauskas or Mcbuckets. I like Stauskas, McDermott and J.Young over Harris at 10.

I like KJ McDaniels better than Harris. And Payne, and there are others...

I like McDanials. I actually hoping we can acquire another mid 1st rounder and snatch him.

Yeah! He's an athlete. He defends 1 - 3 and he's a scorer! Nice player to come off the bench.

Great ball handler, good shooter, can play off the ball if needed, gets to the line a ton, and an efficient player. if not for his ACL, he's a 1st round player. Meh athlete and so-so defense, but as a guy with the 32nd or 39th pick, YES PLEASE.

I'm starting to see John Salmons flashbacks.

Same here. To me he's basically just a cookie-cutter SG like Rashad McCants or Juan Dixon or something like that. My guess: he's been projected in the lottery by Chad Ford/DX since forever and people are just rollin with it. Folks were high on Rodney Hood too before he fell in the mocks. Now you almost never see his name brought up. Definitely like Adams, Stauskas, Hairston and KJ more than Harris.
"Bob Cooney was on Fox Philly news last night with Howard Eskin and he said some GMs don't like Hinkie because he doesn't follow the "old boys club rules". He mentioned Hinkie doesn't return some of the other GM's phone calls."

I don't think Jordan Adams or Garry Harris are going to be NBA starters. Harris, maybe a 1st guard off the bench, but not a solid starter. Jordan Adams has average size and below average athleticism. He will have to be on another skill level, in order to just compete in the NBA. So I wouldn't use the 10th pick on either player

I think 6'5 is a satisfactory height for SG. Jordan has a 6'10 wingspan which is pretty good. Can't jump to save his life, but that's not his game. He's actually pretty average, deceptively quick actually, at his lateral movement. Highest steals per game per 40 of any prospect. Quite strong with an impressive array of offensive moves. One of the highest PERs in this draft. Rebounds incredibly well for someone his height. Oh, and he's 19 years old.

Maybe the 10th pick is high for him, but he should definitely go before Gary Harris in my mind.

Gary Harris can do alot of things, but can he do any of them great? He's just not worthy of a top 10 selection IMO.

I don't disagree with you in regard to his size. I said he has average size, you say his size is satisfactory. Semantics.

He is well below average athletically, for an NBA player. And he's fat. You can get away with that against college players. NBA guards will run circles around him. He's a backup at best, even if his skill level is good enough to make up for his physical limitations.
