I hope that Smith will be cut so he has more time to work more on his kissing! What a waste of a roster spot.

Patience, one more year. I can't imagine they'll re-sign him.

Thanks SF. Somewhere in the middle of your post and somewhat lost in the shuffle, I find it kind of sad that Carney will not be back even if I understand why. I thought he did a pretty good job in his return to Philly even with sporadic minutes. I thought he might be able to scrap a little defensively and hit a few shots here and there under Collins. I suppose if they trade Young, he could be brought back, but it sounds like he's a secondary thought right about now.

Thanks for breaking down the logic of both the basketball and financial parts of the deal SF76, as well as the effect on the other trades we were discussing. The best part of this is they have no fantasy of Brand being a starting 5 and despite what Chad Ford is selling, this does not mean we changed our mind on Turner.

We actually have a lot of parts that are useful, it just remains unclear of how they fit together. It reminds me of the final four team Illinois had in the early 90s where every starter was 6' 7".

I like what we have so far. I hope to see Speights in at PF more than Brand.

I think a trade that might be worth looking into would be Thad for Aldrich because then your Center rotation is offense/defense. And you have 2, young, healthy 7 footers competing for the starting job. There is nothing wrong with that.

When one of them eventually wins, you move on and trade the other. But if they seem to fit well in a nice 50/50 rotation, then you've won in the deal.

Jrue/Lou
Turner/Meeks
Iggy/Nocioni/Kapono
Brand/Speights
Hawes/Aldrich

My ideal situation would see this lineup with Kapono/Green coming off the books. Then, in the 2011 draft, if Speights hasn't shown he can be a starter, you find your Franchise PF.

Jrue/Lou
Turner/Meeks
Iggy/Nocioni
2011 1st/Speights/Brand
Hawes/Aldrich

I like that. 2 young players at every position except SF, where you have 2 vets. That team could be competitive, but even if it isn't you can still move pieces and make it compete.

I think that Kapono/Foster would be a solid move for both teams. I would still like to see something worked out with MEM for LWill/Thad, specifically for 12-henry and later picks (bigs)

PG: J. Holiday / J. Meeks
SG: E. Turner / X. Henry
SF: A. Iguodala / A. Nocioni
PF: E. Brand / M. Speights
C : S. Hawes / J. Foster / J. Smith
Seraphin @25 spends the year overseas, Jordan @28 spends the year in D league. I think Meeks can play an off-the-ball pt with Turner/Iggy doing much of the handling. So the following year:

PG: J. Holiday / J. Meeks
SG: E. Turner / X. Henry
SF: A. Iguodala / A. Nocioni
PF: E. Brand / M. Speights
C : S. Hawes / Seraphin / Jordan

Good deal for sammy...hawes is obviously a different type of center, but will be a contributor. Nocioni is a. Scrapper and fits in the toughness mindset that collins has mentioned...thanks sf. Better today than they were yesterday.

You'd think him and Hank Baskett would have better hands considering the objects they deal with when not on the court.

You might be thinking Jason Thompson.

Not sure if we will be able to fit in a workout..but Udoh is now on our board. Some talk that he could play center in the East. So he may be a guy we target along with Aldrich in a Thad or other parts deal.

Great News! Thanks Sixerfan1976, I love Udoh and think he is another high basketball IQ type of player. I like the trend, he would add length and agility to our front court and if you watched the finals you can't have enough of those type of guys. Also, he is 23 so some teams are dropping him on their board but I think because of his experience he and Turner can come in and contribute right from the start.
Keep up the good work.

I don't know if I would compare Udoh to Turner in terms of being able to come right in and play...but I am on board with including him in the search for a big that we could get on draft night.

I am not comparing their contribution just their muturity level and basketball IQ. However I do like Udoh and think he can be a rotation player by mid season.

Udoh is more of a center that plays solid defense. I don't expect very much offense out of him.

That's all we would need him for. He is adequate on offense.

I like Udoh more than Aldrich. Both are about 6'10, both weigh 236 and 237. I like a Udoh/Hawes Center position, and we can use Udoh at PF sometimes. Just seems like a good energy guy off the bench that give 25-30 minutes every game.
