I like the fake rumor of Brackins for Hill much better then the real rumor of Turner Noc and Brackins for Martin and Hill. Even more so then 2 days ago.

It's wierd, it seems like for whatever reason, everyone watched that post-game press conference last night. I'd hate to add to the many conspiracies already going but I did honestly get a feeling that Jrue just became movable. From what I remember, Collins sort of left out Jrue and said Turner and Iguodala will definitely start the rest of the season barring injury. I only watched it once when it happened so maybe I am remembering wrong but he seemed to throw Jrue in later after the strong definitive statement of them starting the rest of the way. Sorry, it did honestly strike me as a bit odd at the time though.

I didn't see it or hear it, but I would almost guess that he didn't mention Holiday as a starter because it was a given, not because it was a slight or an oversight.

I was thinking maybe they got Jrue on the block after making a decision to start Turner as a point-something.

moving a 21 year old with no immediately discernible holes in his game scares the living crap out of me.

The way college basketball is churning out PGs, I wouldn't be opposed to moving Jrue sometime in the future. But right now, I want to see if he can make any considerable growth playing next to Turner.

No one is above a trade but that haul would have to be pretty damn good.

I too would like to see JTI for the rest of the season before making any personnel moves involving those 3.

Im having a hard time figuring out what exactly this team can do trade wise without having multiple moves be involved. Heres our new lineup with everyone healthy as I see it:

PG - Holiday/Williams
SG - Turner/Meeks
SF - Iguodala/Turner
PF - Brand/Young
C - Hawes/Vucevic/Allen(with Hawes injured)

That is our rotation as I see it with a healthy lineup and those are the guys playing major minutes(I realize Turner is going to be doing a lot of the ballhandling so hes going to be PG but for listing purposes its easiest to just put him at SG, SF).

Now if we were to make a trade for a big man, we would have to give up Nocioni/#1 pick and another player to likely get anything worth it. Most logical player to me is Lou. Problem is if we trade Lou for a big man, wed have to make another move to find another guard because Meeks would be our only guard left off the bench. And if by some awful luck and injury occured in the backcourt(knocking on wood) we would be screwed. So what do we do?

Stand pat and possibly let this slide continue with our only hope being Hawes coming back to his usual self?
Make a move and trade a guy like Lou for frontcourt help and risk having 0 backcourt depth the rest of the year, and having a logjam for minutes in the frontcourt if Hawes were to come back healthy and productive?

What about a move for Josh Smith? He would be an ideal PF for this team.

But, would Noc, Lou & a 1 do it? Not likely.

Defensively, great fit.

Offensively, our needs are a big-time scorer and/or a shooter to open lanes for some of our other players to operate.

I think he would be a nice addition, as an in-his-prime power forward; however, I don't know if he really does much more for us offensively than Thad.

Maybe I am underestimating his offensive game.

I posted this hypothetical over at the Trades and Transactions forum.

A few offers were made. Thoughts? I like that we have enough assets where we are getting fans of other teams to offer up the likes of Batum, Granger, Pierce, and others.

I'd do a move for Josh Smith.... Screw it, we need talented players to make a run in this playoffs. We aren't getting Dwight. Let's add a fast pace PF that plays defense and hope that Vucevic becomes a viable starter in the NBA. I'm all for just saying F it now and going for it.

I like Josh Smith but he isn't the smartest basketball player and his game is loaded with bad habits.

what does josh smith bring to this team that Thad Young doesn't?

horrible fit. no need for an undersized 4 who cant shoot, is selfish, has horrible habits, and a huge contract.

Not much offensively but defensively he has a few great tools. His defensive rebounding is exceptional and he's an elite shotblocker.

Which, in essence, is Josh Smith for a #1 and cap relief?

No way ATL does that.

Josh Smith is a top 6-8 PF...a top-5 shot blocker and quality rebounder. While I would understand that others wouldn't want to do it, I think you would have to trade Thad to make it happen.

Just read the last 5-6 pages.. Man Wes Matthews and Batum paired with Jrue and Dre.. Wow

we'd go from a below average shooting team to a team with some very good long distance shooters essentially overnight while not losing any part of our defensive intensity (maybe getting better in that respect too). I'd be all over Turner + Young or something for Batum + Wes
