Old Sixers fan here :)

I understand a little disapoitment, I'm also disapointment, because we didnt get Russell (i love this guy), but hey - we have Okafor.
Okafor in my opinion fits well.

We have good 3pt shooters in Hollis, Cov, Caanan, Grant. I hope Hinkie will finally bring Jordan McRae to Philly.
We have Noel, who is amazing defensively and will complement Okafor - hes faster, much better shot blocker, etc.

Last year we had Noel/Aldemir/Sims/LRMAM/T-Rob and we won 18 games. Now we're gonna have Okafor/Noel/Aldemir which is HUGE upgrade (and hopefully Joel which will be AMAZING)

If Hans is healthy Hinkie will figure it out - we don't have to pay them extension now, we don't have to trade them now. There is enough time for them - especially if Noel plays at 4. Talent wise - with Joel I think we'll have chance for PO. (best scernario ofk.)

Long term - naturally we have to get rid one of them, but now? We have to be patient - our youngs have to learn a lot, no need to panic and for example bring Ty Lawson, etc. This team with Okafor will be much, much better, with Embiid and Okafor we crash all boards in the league :)

It's crazy, but we in this season we have chance to bring agruably 2 the best players to our roster (if Joel comes back) and we'll have 2 better players than our last season best

Obviously i love Nerlens - he's my favourite Sixer, he's amazing i defensive end. But as JO, Joel - thay are game changers. Okafor alone changes the game, if both of them will come back, we're finally home - We have to trade one of them for PG/SG/SF All-star + we still own picks of Miami, Lakers, OKC, which allows as to trade for need/draft for need.

With JO only it sound really good.
With Okafor+ healthy Joel it sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

Welcome to the board! I agree with your analysis. Believe Okafor could do to our offense what Noel did for our defense, expecting quite a few more wins this season tbh. Shooters should get more open as well as more looks in general given the focus defenses will have to give to Okafor and opportunities with him being such a skilled offensive rebounder.

I believe Noel will stick around, he's a defensive savant and Defense comes at 60 cents to the dollar compared to that of Offense. He's an economical game changer if you will, whereas Embiid and Okafor are more of your prototypical ones. Embiid obviously having the higher ceiling with his defensive potential, but we'll see.

No they didn't. Only one who hated the pick was Woody Paige. Bomani, KB and Kate liked and understood the pick

Everyone always says that you must take BPA but very few people actually mean it.

That's because Celtics and Knicks don't got legit big.

I still cannot believe that we were able to add Okafor to our team. Literally...when we talk about franchise players....we still don't know if Noel or Embiid are franchise players. We could probably guess that Noel is not going to be one but will be a very good player who belongs on a championship team. I say probably because I believe he showed such growth in his offensive game that, if he continues that arc of improvement, he could become a franchise player.

Embiid...would be a franchise player if not for his health. To me, that is the only question mark on him and it is a huge one. If he is able to get past this navicular bone issue...mark him down as a franchise player. He is that talented.

Now...Okafor. He is a franchise player. There is no doubt in my mind that this guy, day 1, is one of the best post players in the NBA that will command double teams and will be a difference maker. It is amazing to me that anyone in the media could be down on the sixers for pulling off the 3 consecutive coos of getting the best player in the draft. Just amazing. I don't care what KAT or Russell did this year, they are not better than Okafor. Not to say that both of those players are not going to be good or even great but neither has 1 skillset that is more special than Okafors post ability.

Now, just looking at the combo of Okafor and Noel playing together...I can't help but be excited thinking about how they compliment each other! Okafor beasting on the O side and Noel dominating on the defensive. Both special in the respective areas.

And then there is the prospect of getting Embiid back.....oh the possiblities!

Yeah, that's ridiculous.

Hinkie called him Jah yesterday, and so Jah it should be.

This video is just full of idiots.

NY gets a pass for being completely disfunctional and crappy with no hope of ever being anything more than an also ran and the sixers get crucified for adding a great player.

Just amazing. But this time next year, this same panel is going to be singing the praises because we will see these young bigs starting to tear up this league and their will be some huge goings on with what we did with these 4 firsts....and we will have the best practice facility in the league and all of the sudden we look like a place that people want to play.

Go figure.
