Hinkie sort of brought this on himself. ....

dude was a socially inept wimp, .

By resigning instead of being a punk and staying making money he proved his COURAGE (and strategic brilliance by putting the 76ers in a bind both PR wise and strategic)

How crazy would it be if the Knicks hire him after Phil Jackson leaves?

4, 29, and 30 would be so sweet, and such vindication.

I would love it.

jesus, is that really that big of a deal?

this just all seems to rash on Hinkie's part. they weren't going to fire him. they wanted more socially-ept people to deal with agents and players. (which even the most ardent Hinkie fans would have to acknowledge isn't a bad idea)

i still can't believe that someone as intelligent as Hinkie would honestly believe the owners were just going to give him full control for as long as he wanted. and never have have to worry about PR or having other voices in the room

Agents love Brian Colangelo and there is a reason for this. THEY TAKE HIM TO THE CLEANERS EVERY TIME.

Maybe Hinkie is involved with the Panama Papers, that's why he stepped down.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I hope Hinkie wins championships wherever he goes next. Even if it is with the Nets or Knicks.

If Spike Eskin can get two busses of people to go to a Brooklyn Nets home game.. just imagine. I agree it wouldn't matter. The RTRS lottery party is gonna be something special now

Spike can't even stop his own employee from insulting hI'm daily on live radio. If anything Innes will get 3x the crowd to oppose anything spike does just to clown him more.

If Prokhorov was smart, Sam Hinkie would be the Nets GM by midnight. If there's one guy who knows how turn a roster with nothing but a fringe All Star and Thaddeus Young, into a bunch of assets, Its Sam Hinkie. And I would be sick.

3 Diff owners and mad GMs, none of them know what they're doing. Doesn't make sense to follow fools blindly, I'll rock with people who know what they're doing.

So will I, but it isn't like we have a choice. Nobody ever switches teams once they are invested.

I only hope for the best for the Sixers.

They finally had the balls to go for it, and they gave up in the middle of the rebuild. I just hope that we turn it around based on Hinkie's assets.

If Embiid stays healthy or we get Simmons everyone will know who made that possible.

sixers238 wrote:Worst thing imaginable given where we are in this re-build process. Hinkie did the right thing by leaving if these tweets are true. BC is not going to know what to do with the assets we've collected and will piss them away. Plus, the comfort of knowing that we are always looking for good value opportunities and future assets is gone. Hinkie was too real for too long. He understood that unless you have a top 5 NBA player, you're not going to win a championship. Sounds like our management doesn't understand that. Hinkie will get another opportunity elsewhere and build a great team.

No he won't be given the second chance to screw up another team. Im pretty fine that "Trust this Process" crap has finally come to the end. If you want to trash BC for his awful record in Torento I gonna tell you its not even as close to Hinkie's record in Philly these past three years. Its "historically Bad". And all we got for that is a "Paper talent who can't even step on the court two years after being selected".

snoopdogg88 wrote:not coincidently there was an article in phillymag recently that claimed the narrative that Josh Harris was some "die hard basketball/Palestra" fan was total PR driven bullcrap.

it kind of feeds into the conspiracy theory that Josh Harris is a total businessman at heart, and cares nothing about basketball or winning championships and just wants to sell the team for a massive profit.

Your prior posts in this thread have pissed me off something awful. However, you are right on the money here.

Josh Harris is getting ready to sell this team. Sam stocked the shelf with assets. The Colangelo hirings are supposed to make the organization look marketable to some billionaire who wants the status of owning an NBA franchise.

Harris is going to make a **** of money on the sale and then he's gonna buy his soccer team, or whatever the hell he goes on to do. I hate Josh Harris for caring more about making money than building a dynasty.

I am certain that Sam will have a GM job in the NBA very soon. There are probably 15 teams on the treadmill right now with fan bases that will be calling for Sam.

Our best hope as 76ers fans is that this team is sold immediately and the new owner prohibits our front office from making any trades with Sam.

This franchise is cursed. I pity myself. I pity all of you too.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

Well, it's been a night, I'm going to wallow in my despair somewhere else more appropriate.
