With the starting unit, Who do you guys think will defend Harden? I think it’s going to be Tobi, with Green on Kyrie and Ben on KD.

I think Tobi can do a good job in a way that we can live with the result of his defense on Harden without needing to throw extra help defense.

I’d also like to see if Tobi can score against Harden at the post or on ISO. I think both guys are around equal in size with 8’7” standing reach

Kyrie - Thybulle
Harden - Simmons
Durant - Harris

Don't think that Curry or Hill on Irving for 30 minutes will work. Thybulle should play a major role if we face the Nets in a PO series.

Hmm.. yeah i think it’s possible to see Tobi on KD. I just find KD to be a lot tougher to defend, so I had Ben on KD. But what you’re suggesting makes sense because of the speed issue.

I think Hill, Green and Thybulle can defend Irving and Harden also.

I’d also like to see if Shake can defend Harden.

Irving scoring on Thybulle was fun, in this game. Man.. Kyrie is just a baller. That lefty floater was nasty.

The guy I’m worried about the most is Irving. What he did as a solo act against us is going to be every game. Jitterbug guards always light us up and he’s one of the best.
Durant will get 30 it doesn’t matter lol
Harden may sink or swim (playoff turnover ratio is quite high 7.1/4.4 in the Rockets tenure) Both Durant/Harden are turnover prone and we have players that love steals.

Health/size/HCA/Offense vs Defense are the biggest factors between us and the Nets. Will be very interesting. Lakers are essentially a better version than us.

Have to get the number one seed but that’s always been the case.

I think Joe Harris/Curry will be non factors imho.
Way too much variance between them both. (Harris has way more gravity, but are essentially shooters or unplayable).

Thybulle is great defensively but we need as a starting 5 enough offense to keep up so it’ll be a balancing act. No chance we see a Howard/Simmons/Thybulle lineup that’s asking for trouble.

The Sixers bench did it in the game I attended a few weeks ago against Memphis and the coaches on the comeback team rarely put their starters back in because it is the frenetic young energy and fresh legs that catch the other team off guard. In past years we might have list that one, and it was cool to close it out with Tobi sitting (though not cool that he has a sore knee), since that kind of finishing touch has been his specialty all year.

The Claxton/Johnson double team on Embiid is one of those things the team can easily adjust to and take advantage of in a longer series/full game. Sixers also learned a good lesson about taking their foot off the gas too early.

Also lets be honest Embiid was getting fouled on many of those double teams but it wasn't getting called. One thing Embiid can do is force the refs hands by making a basketball move especially when the dbl comes close to the basket. Don't look to pass out after getting whacked and bail out the refs.

That is the way shaq used to handle them. He just went at the dbl but then again he got the ball much closer to the post then Embiid does

I love Shake my second favorite 76er. But he is not ready for an assignment like this right now. Coming off the bench with little pressure but to score is what he does best. Too much ball handling his performance goes down, put him on Harden and it will destroy him. IMHO. On the second unit he makes Howard look like an all star and he finds his grove. Maybe next season.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

I think Embiid will eventually get a shot on Durant. Tobias will probably start on him though.

Simmons will probably be on Irving. Based on what we’ve seen Harden really plays a set up role for them when all 3 are out there so it probably makes more sense to put whoever the second wing defender on him.

Because I like ending games with Shake and the starters, he’s also an underrated defender and I’d consider him to be a very good spot up shooter for my eyetest.

I’d imagine having a backcourt of GHill and Milton or Green, ending games with our top 3. Yeah, in that case maybe Milton would be on someone like Bruce brown or Joe Harris.

Would love to see Embiid on KD with both guys dueling it out. Then Biid and our team winning then KD and Biid having a “passing the torch” moment.
