Love Jimmy but he's oft hurt now and doesn't sniff 65 games a season anymore. Can't roll the dice on another guy who could be sidelined in April. We really whiffed when it should've happened 5 years ago.

Paul George, Lauri Markkanen, and Andre Drummond would be the 100%, aced the test home run. Then hope to bring back Batum and Oubre somehow. This whole ship goes kaboom when Jo's contract is up, time is of the essence.

I know there are a lot here who would rather build slower and don't want the old guy FA... but that is basically asking to trade Joel, which we know Morey won't do, even if some of us think it's worth exploring. And we also know Morey is not going to build a team organically. He's not even going to go looking for younger diamonds in the rough. He's going to walk up to the high roller table, plop his fat ass down, and throw wads of cash on the table and ask the dealer for chips.

The free agents after George all suck, and they don't have the assets to make two star trades. Unless you count, and are happy with, Dejounte Murray and Brandon Ingram? And the more I think about it, the more I'm starting to lean away from Ingram.

I'm really confused. I would love to have Jimmy Butler back but why is this even being brought up as an option. There is no way that Pat Riley is trading Butler!

Take it up with Brian Windhorst, he's the one who put it out there. All we can do is react to the rumors as they surface.

All of these things are true, but beggars can't be choosers. The Sixers are not a prime destination for stars and this is a weak free agent class and most stars are not being traded. If it's Jimmy or Brandon Ingram, give me Jimmy. Jimmy or Paul George, give me Jimmy.

The Sixers have nothing on the books to give unless they do some crazy sign-and-trade. Harris for Butler?

Butler is not a FA, though. Miami isn't going to trade Jimmy for picks.

If we could somehow trade all our draft capital for Markannen + Caruso we'd be in business. They only make a combined $28m next year, which leaves $37m of cap to sign several other good pieces. Plus one more via Room Exception.

Potential Signings with $37m of cap space:
$8m - Derrick Jones Jr.
$8m - Kyle Anderson
$8m - Kelly Oubre
$5m - Spencer Dinwiddie
$5m - Nico Batum
$5m - Andre Drummond

Then with exceptions:
$8m - Buddy Hield (Room Exception)
$3m - Kyle Lowry (vet min)
$3m - Rob Covington (vet min)

Lineup:
PG Maxey | Dinwiddie | Lowry
SG Caruso | Hield | Council
SF Oubre | Jones | Covington
PF Markannen | Batum | Anderson
CE Embiid | Drummond | Vet Min

I think our primary targets need to be a stretch 4 who can rebound, the best back-up center out there (Val), and then 3 and D guys in that order.

I don't think a bucket getter like Jimmy is a top priority.

100% agree. Love Butler, but he’s too old to give a long term commitment now.

Here are some under-the-radar / value free agents that could be a fit as the middle-class gets squeezed under the new punitive CBA rules. Plenty will have to settle for under $10m, under $5m, or even a vet min.

Point Guard
Spencer Dinwiddie (Lakers)
Kris Dunn (Jazz)
Delon Wright (Heat)

Shooting Guard
Malik Beasley (Bucks)
Alec Burks (Knicks)
Gary Trent (Raptors)
Eric Gordon (Suns)
Lonnie Walker (Nets)
Josh Richardson (Heat)
Luke Kennard (Grizzlies)
Talen Horton-Tucker (Jazz)
Gary Harris (Magic)
Justin Holiday (Nuggets)

Small Forwards
Naji Marshall (Pelicans)
Simone Fontecchio (Pistons)
Cedi Osman (Spurs)
Haywood Highsmith (Heat)
Derrick Jones Jr. (Mavericks)
Torrey Craig (Bulls)
Jordan Nwora (Raptors)
Taurean Prince (Lakers)

Power Forwards
Kyle Anderson (Timberwolves)
Kevin Love (Heat)
Jae Crowder (Bucks)
Davis Bertans (Hornets)

Centers
Kelly Olynyk (Raptors)
Andre Drummond (Bulls)
Dario Saric (Warriors)
Jalen Smith (Pacers)
Goga Bitadze (Magic)
Daniel Theis (Clippers)
Xavier Tillman (Celtics)
James Wiseman (Pistons)

Which 4 - 5 guys should we target to fill out the roster around a presumed Big 3?

Drummond and Lonnie Walker are the only interesting names there to me. It's a really brutal list.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The list is horrible outside of Walker and Drummond.

I don’t think it’s feasible to sign one star and trade for another. That leaves us with 4 maxes next which isn’t feasible. I really wish Windy mentioned Lauri so I can believe lol.

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon

Lauri would be a great fit next to Embiid and Maxey. Too bad Ainge will hold him hostage for a huge ransom!

I fell asleep at halftime, so didn’t get to see the end.

As far as this season, it was very clear that Morey/Brand/Whomever was punting this season for this summer. I expected us to lose, and in embarrassing fashion. Just too many holes to fill: no backup center, no PF (Tobias sucks) no rebounding, a bunch of old and injured wings (Oubre was awesome), no backup PG…a lot of the things that we haven’t resolved in years.

I’ve been on the move Embiid train for a few years now. It seems unlikely that happens though. I just hope that whatever we decide in the offseason, we sign/trade for players under 30, no Paul Georges, James Hardens, etc.

Remain competitive, but work to restore draft capital without mortgaging our future. I believe we’re a year or two too late to have gone all in.

Lauri + Maxey alone would be really good, let alone with Embiid. But really anyone is a huge upgrade over Harris. I just think that Morey should think long and hard before signing any player: "Will this guy be a playoff contributor?". There are good players out there like DeMar DeRozan or Julius Randle who take a lot of bad shots in playoffs or they cannot adjust to a more physical defense or they dislike the pressure. These are all important things to take into account, one should not just look at regular season analytics or at theoretical fit with Embiid or whatever. I think Knicks got lucky that Randle got injured, he is just not a smart player.

It looks like Joel interrupted Batum post game yesterday to say he wants him back, but Batum left the door open for retirement.

We need Ricky Council to become a 20 mpg rotation player next year. He put up good numbers in his limited time so hopefully he can maintain with expanded mins.

Tyrese is gonna lock him in the gym shooting 3’s and hopefully that works. Council with a decent 3-ball is a player.

My number one target would be OG Anunoby (27 years old), He has a player option which he will decline for free agency. Fits the timeline of both Maxey and Embiid. Might be an overpay, but I think is a winning player. who compliments both Maxey and Embiid. Worse case is you force the Knicks to overpay.
