Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 5
Maybe Nurse really likes having two small guards in the backcourt. Teams who run a lot of dribble-drive offense often feature smaller backcourts. Its the best way to create holes on the defense, specially against that Celtics defense.

Embiid-MVP wrote:Exactly the type of bench guard we needed that was available imo. I prefer to have someone that can Dribble very well, can get their own shot, facilitate, shoots the 3 ok & leadership/experience. He's got everything you could really ask for in a minimum deal at that
As long as Reggie understands:
A) he's not playing every night
B) he does not have license to go ham
Then the signing is fine.

Reggie Jackson has 7 feet wingspan.

Damn had no idea the world was with me on that. Tomatoes and jalapeños and nothing else. Used to eat that all the time when it was $2.50 a six inch.
Onions and jalapenos for me but yes pretty addictive. Haven't went in years though. Not worth the price any more. Put this first cuz I'm really not sure where there's a place here for Reggie Jackson at this point.
Banana peppers + black olives slapped too. Oregano and black pepper too.

There is still one spot open then. They could still add at PF.

I thought they intend to leave it open, as in, use it when necessary, so yes they could get a PF, but doesn't seem iminent, and might be something further down the line when the season starts or mid season.

We have 2 roster spots open, so I imagine he means there’s room for 1 more signing. Could be wrong though.

There's 2 roster spots. If they leave one open that still leaves one. I think they will add a wing type player still.

They have 13 after Reggie. One more to go. Will almost certainly be a PF type.

On another note, had no idea PGs intro presser was today. Anything interesting there?

Most interesting things to me was them confirming keepinga roster spot open and they hammered how the team isn't complete yet and ownership and Morey are prepared to use their picks to improve the team.the_process wrote:On another note, had no idea PGs intro presser was today. Also, on health, they said the doctors will be working with the big 3 to make sure they are healthy for the playoffs. PG said he should help Embiid's health by specifically keeping Joel from posting up at the top of the key and shouted out Nick Nurse when saying that.
Besides that PG said all the right things. A lot of fluff, but that's what he should be doing of course.

Pretty sure Morey is just signing BPA at this point. Never thought anyone could make me beg for a Marcus Morris signing.
Gotta be an aggregate contract move.

I don't think it's feasible to make any kind of a trade, even a small one, before January.

I'm not saying we're not getting a PF. I'm saying it's not happening now. It's an open roster spot that will be used on a need basis for flexibility. I.E they aren't going to go sign a PF right now like people were hoping.

Reggie Jackson is the 13th player on the roster. While that's technically the minimum, league rules do state you have to carry at least 14 for most of the season. And two way guys do not count toward this minimum.
They will sign one more vet min guy before camp.

I see, didn't know that. So why is Daryl saying it's open then. Along with the other stuff he said?
