Need to trade Joel and PG and tank for Flagg. Both are washed.

I think he was complaining about the refs not calling a foul. Atleast I really hope that was it, but I suppose you can’t put anything past him. If he was really chewing out the lone bright spot on this god awful team for something like that he’s an even bigger loser than I thought he was.

Man it's so bad, they haven't even mentioned Eric Gordon adrift in the paint while his man was left twice wide open from 3 and Gordon didn't even seem to care that he was covering no one.

Game swung when he tried to take the transition layup and probably got fouled but they didn’t call it in the second.

Noticed that as well he was mad at McCain he’s just a big crybaby. He has the maturity of the 13-year-old. I thought we should’ve traded him this summer now it’s too late he’s washed.

Most of these shots were WIDE open.

McCain: 4/9

I don't care if he gets roasted a few times on defense, he's not the reason this is a dumpster fire.

Also, unless we commit to McCain running PG, nothing is going to matter. If we think the 3FG is going to improve with Maxey trying to create offense, I suppose this will bring you back to earth:

If Sixers are going to consider making any moves via trade (I'm strongly against that if this team can't get to 5-15); then it's Portis or Myles Turner for me.

This was a team that was supposed to challenge Boston. Instead we're struggling to score 90 points and our best player is now a mid first round pick. I don't know where we went wrong, but it's bad.

Nurse has spent the first hour post-game in closed door meeting with team. Yikes.

It went wrong when the team misjudged Joel's knee injury.

No one should be joking about wanting a top draft pick, it's legitimately the best outcome for the Sixers this season for multiple reasons. Cross your fingers they keep losing and eventually just throw their hands up and give Embiid the year off. It will be so much better in the long run for this organization.

Our big 3 have still yet to play a single game together this season. While you can certainly argue that that is a problem in itself, Maxey should get a lot of easy looks with not only Embiid back but the emergence of McCain as well.

BTW for those of you who are advocating for us tanking for Flagg, I got news for you. It ain't happening. Not with all of the money we spent this offseason. And I say this as someone who was a huge fan of Hinkie and the Process. Hell, I wanted the Process to begin right after we traded AI but got pushed back 6-7 years or so.

I expect our record to improve once everyone gets healthy and we play more bottom feeders of the NBA which will likely take us out of Flagg contention not to mention moves that Morey will likely make prior to the deadline. Finally I fear that even if we were to suck badly enough for Flagg, we either wouldn't land him or lose our pick to OKC (thanks Brand for that awful Horford signing) because it's no secret that Silver and the league have it out for us.

Jared McCain was not even remotely close to our issue tonight. He's way down the list tonight.

I don't care if Joel was trying to be funny or just didn't want to address it. That is 1,000% the WRONG response. It's an insult to his teammates to make light of it and it's a slap across the face of fans who want to see their star care.

mjkvol wrote:Paul George was a disastrous signing. This team didn't need a "3rd star", it needed shooters and a scheme that wasn't Embiid-centric. The McCain draft indicates that Morey's greatest skill might be identifying college players who can play, which begs the question of why we keep trading picks for washed veterans?

I'm my mind it's Max money for 2 way role player George and McCain. It's the only cope.

We were in agreement whole time no George.

But I gotta disagree with Mik regarding the whole off-season. In a vacuum Martin and Oubre are doing more because George and Joel aren't stepping up. People can fantasize about perfect offensive play where all these shooters and scorers share the ball and play perfectly. Any body could've told you those 2 guys would struggle if your stars aren't there or shouldn't be there... Yet still they played ok tonight 20pts between the 2 and got to the rim even hit some 3s. Even Drummond was one of the catalysts of that big run that led to a 19pt lead 12 and 5 in 12 minutes, rejected Jimmy at the rim... actually got out to help against a small and transition to defend some Kevin Love shots. You got Yabu a real PF that truly fills that need as a spacer with a floor game that can be a stretch 5 too. Morey exceed expectations, and should've been a leader for executive of the year for his off season (if they didn't prove to be a joke of a front office by the time the season started).... Not even sure they need a trade unless they can flip Oubre or Martin into a real 3 and D with driving ability.

They lost because of Joel and today it was "illness"... Gotta be done with the excuses. If Joel doesn't get back to even all star form on both ends... None of this other stuff matters. George sucked... missed open shots (some of which he should've driven in the paint was so open) whatever. They got open shots by the people that should take them (George, Kyle, Jared, Yabu, Gordon, Dowtin) especially early... Even without Joel playing well. Gotta be able to rely on your stars, especially Joel.

All of Embiid, Maxey and PG have played ZERO games together.

I literally don't have an opinion on the season thus far, like at all... but the chance of landing Coop or Ace is getting more and more tempting unfortunately.
