Immediately after you find a new team to follow.

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.

I don't care if season ticket holders have to "suffer" another 41 games of watching marginal to below NBA talent be trotted out each night. If you are a real fan and actually keep tabs on this squad, you should be elated and understand this new management is positioning this franchise to eventually propel from the stale mediocrity REAL FANS endured for over a decade, which is much worse than a couple 19 or below win seasons. Skip the season tickets for a year or two if it's so bad.
I'm guessing the people bitching and moaning are ones who think being a 7th or 8th seed led by the likes of Andre Iguodala and over-the-hill FA signings is much more enjoyable to watch. FOH!
philly sports writers care only about having an interesting team to cover. they aren't "fans" in the same sense most of us are. a lot of these guys didn't grow up here, don't really give a damn about the sixers competing for a championship. they just want a 40 win team that they can drum up headlines about. the current sixers team doesn't do that

This is a great article. I can't imagine what would cause anyone to oppose the Sixers' strategy besides pure jealousy or the inability to understand building a roster for the long-run.

Yep, that is a good article. It really highlights one of the big misconceptions out there, that the sixers deliberately picked injured players to lose more games. This has always been one of the head scratchers for me and a lightning rod for simpletons on the GB and talkback radio muppets.
The reasonable argument is that we are bad for business, I can accept that. But really, the tune will change next year when Embiid and Noel rock into town. They will no doubt be one of the most hyped duos in the league. All of a sudden we are good business and media darlings. The injuries just delayed the show for a year but you would have to be a screw loose to think that they would not prefer Embiid in uniform now.

Please never use the words screw loose and Embiid ever again when talking about Embiid. Thanks in advance.

That's absurd anyone would accuse Hinkie of doing that. What would even be the point of tanking if that were the case? It's simply a coincidence Noel and Embiid had injury concerns leading up to their respective drafts. The Noel trade was a steal (Jrue's nothing to write home about in New Orleans despite being injured) and Embiid was probably the biggest prize of the 2014 draft class and would have gone number one if healthy.
I will just never understand how the Sixers get roasted, but the fact of the matter is we finished with more wins last season than Milwaukee, who actually had some legitimate NBA talent on their roster and you don't hear anyone complaining about the Bucks. I think people just love to attack Philadelphia any chance they get when it comes to any of our teams.

So was there ever a time when you didn't agree with the front office but still supported the sixers?
8th seeds suck. The "rah rah go team give it your best effort Biff" died a long time ago. Championships or bust. The way to win titles is to get superstars. The best way to get superstars is with high draft picks. Tanking in 50 words or less.

These are the same idiots that complain about the Phillies huge long term contracts and the hamstrung FLyers! Wahhh we are the 8th seed capped out and have no hope of getting better. Now its wahhh we are awful and arent trying. Im tired of all these people with no knowledge and the desire to cry about anything and everything!
