We probably won't win a title this year, but we'll have a shot. Maybe 10%.

We would have to get lady luck on our side regarding matchups.

We need the Lakers to come out of the West and we need the Bucks to get to the Conference Finals. We could conceivably have a good shot at the championship if it unfolds like that. Because between Giannis, Joel, Anthony and LeBron, nobody is taking over in the halfcourt. It will just come down to who can play the best bully ball. @76iology

Why are Raptors fans coming in here to antagonize fans after a loss?

I remember the good old days when they would like every post in the gamethreads of the team they just beat as a sign of friendliness.

What the hell was that double rotation by Embiid on Siakam at the end? He full speed stumbled into the paint waiving his arms around like a drunk Manute Bol only to hand-deliver an obvious and 1 to give Toronto the lead. Horrific defensive play.

Clearly an off night, but Joel has been unrecognizable pretty much all season. Can't realistically expect to contend with him moving around like a slug. He's simply become much easier to defend and I don't foresee that changing unless he's able to somehow find another gear.

Too many bad teams in the East. There is already a 4 game separation between the top 5-6 teams and the bottom 6 teams. So Toronto will easily win between 47-50 games. Or more.

Easy foul to call on embiid on pascal.

But the offensive foul on on embiid at the 2 min mark where he pivot spun and elbow hit rotating defender. If that were smaller Harris doing same move. The defender likely gets charged for blocking cause he was still moving his feet still (Toronto defender) but because embiid is so big. And his embiid blow can move a defender rotating. It looks a lot worse and he easily gets called for that offensive foul.

How is your takeaway from all of this that the Raptors are not a threat in the playoffs? You realize that the Raptors were missing two of their best players right?

They dont have the offensive talent to win a 7 game series imo. A random game in November doesnt mean much anyway.

They are a good defensive team, that plays hard so it is not an opponent you'd wish to face but their offensive limitations would make it very hard for them to win 4 games against the Sixers, again imo.

Quick points:
1, All playoff teams have figured out a go-to plan for guaranteed points, whatever it is;
2, Sixer fans know, and Bucks fans are learning, and Raptors fans know all too well: in the playoffs, each and every possession matters;
3, The big difference in the playoffs are (a) getting back on defense and defending competently. And the Raptors are one of the best at that; and
4, the second thing in the playoffs is (b) in game and between game adjustments, and Nick Nurse and the Raptors coaching staff is - at the very least - greatly underrated to the point that other teams may fail to properly prepare and get thrown off by random stuff from Nick Nurse. In my view, the Raptors coaching staff is one of the best in the East if not the best,and in my view, better than the Sixers.

Tonight's game was a statement game, by the way. Both teams must have had it circled on the calendar.

Our coach tries to whenever he can because their games don't compliment each other in the slightest.

About us, it is early to say and a lot will depend on the match ups. We have some issues but i think most teams have issues at the moment. In any case the time of reckoning is nearing, if we dont get to the finals major changes are gonna happen in the summer.

its not going to happen during the season and even if it did it probably wouldn't change much.

as frustrating as it probably will be, I think the best chance for major changes will come after a letdown year...and considering the finals or bust message, that won't be too hard.

I don't think this ownership is willing to pay the luxary tax for a dissapointment.

however i will say be careful for what you wish for with this FO. I could forsee many a panic move that leads us in a worse spot..

It was the kind of game that'll make you sick to your stomach, but still only 1 RS game. On the road against a tough opponent. Just gotta move on and grow from it. Hopefully Embiid gets angry about this and comes out with some fire on Thursday. And more importantly, hopefully he comes out with some fire next time we play the Raps.

I still think you guys will be right there in the playoffs, a 7 game series will be tough. It's funny, every team in the east at the top got worse (except Boston, addition by subtraction), so I don't have trouble seeing Philly, Bucks, Boston, or Toronto in the finals. A game like today would worry me more about Embiid's future than anything else. Dude is not aging well. He's down huge in basically every category this year. Hope he gets in shape, don't want to see him out of the league so quick.

Every time there is a litmus test type road game they fail. Its boring as hell. The coach is terrible. Im sick of Brett Brown. Embiid was horrible but Brown did zero to help him. Also, unless Ben becomes a 20PPG scorer that can hit a couple jump shots a game the pairing of him and Embiid will never win jack squat. The coach and/or GM need to be fired if this team doesnt reach at least the ECF. The team that finished last year would beat this team in five games in a seven game series. Last years starters with this years bench would be the best team in the NBA. They didn't want to pay the luxury tax and Brown didnt want to deal with Butler. Im beyond frustrated right now. We actually are quite a bit into the season already there 4-6 road record shows they are faaaar away from being legit title contenders. They wil be in a dog fight all year with the Celtics, Raptors, and Heat in the standings for playoff positioning. Forget about Milwaukee they will win 60 we arent getting near that.
