Re: Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020 Offseason
I think Milton has another step in him to take his game and he's that sort of shooter that when he lets it fly you don't doubt for a second that it's going in. But I still think Hield is so underrated. But I also think Horf is underrated too league wide, so.

Woah! DeRozan may be an even worse fit than Tobias, but I have to make the deal just for the contract savings.
Getting DeRozan + White + Mills would be great. It would be relatively easy to move DeRozan again later if needed since he's an expiring.

I'm not as high on Milton as you guys. And while I like him in the PnR and as a spot up shooter, he's not anywhere near the shooting threat that Hield is in terms of just getting his shot off. He's also probably a worse defender at this stage.

Almost impossible to be a worse defender than Heild.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I hope he enjoys his 6 days left of destruction and terror he's causing to the Sixers online community.

DeRozan, Mills, and White
for
Harris, Richardson, and Smith?
I'll do that deal. We'd have a starting backcourt of White + DeRozan, with Simmons and Embiid in the frontcourt. Would absolutely need a sharpshooting wing/SF to finish the starting 5.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020 Offseason
Last year in terms of OBPM Hield was sandwiched between Luka Doncic and Devin Booker
This year in between Devonte Graham and Brandon Ingram
He's a legit offensive weapon and unconscious shooter. Like a rare ability combined with athleticism to put it on the floor and hit tough contested shots for days. He's been a positive box +/- contributer each of the last 3 seasons (while producing better DBPM rates than guys like Rose, McCollum, Dragic). I don't get why there's so much doubt about his game. Buddy is a baller and would enhance both of our superstars playing ability simultaneously.

Buddy Hield: -2.62 DRPM and -0.56 RPM
Better stats than DBPM portray Hield to be an atrocious defender.

RPM is heavily inspired by underlying +/- logic. Not that Buddy is an outlier or anything but playing on a porous team with zero structure is going to cave in his rates. But he still grades in similar to guys like Lavine, Lillard, Herro and Rose on that end, like we should expect? He is who we think he is. A weapon on offense and someone you would have to schematically place on defense.
I would welcome him with open arms, I just prefer identifiable elite traits.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020 Offseason
cont- (after some more rpm diving)
So two years ago according to rpm; Buddy over a sample span of 80 games was apparently defending at a level superior to Jimmy Butler, Jaylen Brown and Victor Oladipo in his career season

but then last year he morphed into a completely new player. an offensive juggernaut and passive defensive presence. but still rating comfortably a positive impact contributer

and then last year he graded practically neutral being equally bad on one end and good on the opposite

i think reading too deeply into those numbers after the conclusion of any one of those season would have painted a drastically different picture, for a player that's more or less been the same guy in each of them. and for that reason we should combine that statistical inference with our own viewings of the player. (((anecdotally))) i've never really noticed him being shocking trae young levels of horrid on that end. there's guys like furkan that absolutely ruin my viewing experience with the way they're. no exaggeration. flatout unplayable on the court because of how painfully bad they are on d. i think hield is in that level of guy like beal, cjm, herro, rose etc that are not by any stretch of the imagination plus defenders, but they're not liabilities ala furkan or horf out of position at the 4 chasing around forwards getting flame broiled on the perimeter. im not sure though i think im extremely biased in his favor because im a big fan of the player.

Even if you accept these stats (which you shouldnt as the role of the players matters) Reddick is even more of an offensive juggernaut and is cheaper. the truth is that they are both very one sided players and although elite shooters they dont bring much else, which makes them easy to contain in the playoffs unless you have someone to consistently get them open shots. The Sixers primarily need a creator not overpaid shooters.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020 Offseason
Lost me with the Redick > Hield shout. Hield at the juncture of his career compared to Redick is a more prolific shooter, way better off the dribble, much better at the rim, can hit tougher shots due to be bigger and more athletic and also a superior defender.
But inform me of these creators readily available for an Al Horford swap because that'd be even better.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread: 2020 Offseason
What about something based around Horford for Eric Gordon and Covington? Gordon's deal is U-G-L-Y but is a theoretical fit if he's not as bad as he was last year. Cov is the prize. I like
Simmons
Gordon
Covington
Harris
Embiid
You could find a deal for a guard for Harris and move Covington to the 4 too.

Figured if someone was bothering to post the guy's rumors on here it might have some level of credibility beyond random dude making stuff up... But yeah, this guy's clearly full of ****.

Someone said he had the Morey to Sixers move early, so, if true, I’d give him a shot. However, he either has a connection in the Sixers front office, or he is a Sixers fan having fun with the trade machine.
