Prayers up for dipo. Hope he can recover from this. One of the nicest guys out there.

He had a great series and came through when we needed him. He basically picked a part the nets defenders with his size in the midrange (the same spots Embiid operates.)

I have my doubts about how he will perform next series , he has always struggled against the celtics and matchup wise there is really no one for him to have a mismatch against.

The supporting cast did their job this series, its up to Biid and Harden to show up in the next one.

But in a same scenario as today to be presented tomorrow, I know Tobi and the rest of the team will be more confident to play this scheme at a high level because of the win we had today.

I always listen to vaughn on his interviews during the entire series. He reminds me a lot of Brett. He’s getting fooled with all the data and theories on paper in his head that he imagines or calculated that it will work. But in real life, if the result is telling you otherwise you need to adjust.

And that’s the difference of a more experienced and more talented coach and team.

There are halves in the Nets series where I find them to be traps that are designed to get them falling into bad habits or having little time to adjust.

Like life, basketball is more than just putting the best 5 man unit in the league because they have the best NetRtg in regular season or taking 50 3pters because of higher potential pts return than taking 2s.

You need to adjust your sail depending on where the wind blows. You need to be able to play different styles on different gears.

I agree Harden and Embiid have to show up but they have played relatively well against the Celtics. The celtics 3,4,5,6 options have outplayed ours. Maxey especially has not played well against the Celtics also. Maxeys speed should always be a factor especially if Horford is going to play mostly stretch 5 . They have to get Maxey going downhill. Tobi can't let the J's dominate him and have to carry this momentum into the next series.

Correct. Need other players to step up. Derrick White/Brogdon sometimes even play much better than Tatum…

Tobias was fantastic in this series, one of the MVP's.

I'll call him 'Playoff Tobi' instead of 'Round One Tobi' when he recreates this kind of performance and doesn't disappear in the biggest moments against the Celtics and Bucks.

John Collins is limiting Jaylen to 42FG% (DeAndre at 77%) and Tatum to 40%FG% (DeAndre at 50%), but he shoots only 20% from 3

Pretty shocked the Cavs seemingly can’t hang with the Knicks.

Why so many injuries over the last 5-10 years? Maybe it has to do with coddling 25-30 year old stars and letting them sit so much? I'm no sports scientist, but one has to wonder.

This is all we've wanted for the last 4 years. Our highly paid guy to deliver scoring punches and just decent defense. More 22 point games, less 12 point games.

Impactful 22 point games.

Tobias has been the king of the empty 20-point game since he's been here.

I mean it’d be great if they had 5 all stars on the court at all times, but if they’re really supposed to be an elite defensive front court/offensive back court they shouldn’t need that to hang with a mediocre Knicks team.

Okoro isn’t even starting at this point, a Garland/Mitchell/Lavert lineup has issues but it should at least be able to score better than this.

Cavs are going nowhere w/the combo of Mobley and Allen. Never seen a more overhyped duo in my life. They need to get rid of one of those guys for a forward/wing that can shoot.

Steph might have just choked this one away... CWebb timeout. Rushing a shot instead of running the clock. Iffy.

Edit: lucked out

I thought for sure that shot by Barnes was going down. Can't believe the Warriors almost gave that one away. Oh well, series tied 2 up now. It's going seven I think.
