That's true but I don't hate giving him some reps trying to read that and prep himself to have a better plan than panic and/or pass the ball immediately to the closest guy to him.

Also yes to Maxey needing to make that pass to the corner.

I think Nurse's concern is ballhandling but he has overrated Meltons ability. Maybe Batum can help Maxey with some ball handling duties

I assume Batum's shooting will be gone while the finger heals. Let's see more Cov if that's the case. He's still an absolute menace with the deflections on D.

Porzingis a feather. If he’s going to be out there to stretch the floor, embiid needs to physically dominate him around h the rim down the stretch. The playmaking high post is cute through out the game, getting everyone involved but to close it out, I want you throwing Porzingis through the rim.

Team looks great. Faster rotations on defense, less indecisive offense due to better ball movement and defined roles. The biggest difference for me is the physicality on defense. nice early returns for nurse/sixers

Both Covington and Batum saved our asses tonight. I love these additions. I don't care if these guys are older, it's exactly what we've needed.

I don’t think Embiid has the ability to be physically dominant in that way or he would’ve done it against players like Boucher for example. He plays an Olajuwon finesse game, not a Shaquille O’Neal physical game.

A no-defense, non-creating point guard who reliably bring the ball up the court and hit a free throw and an open 3... that's gotta be an easy thing to find in the G-league right? Probably at least a half-dozen if not 20 guys who can do that. Maybe even one in Delaware. Because that seems to be what we needed at the end of the game.

The difference for me was that I didn’t see a single player on the court lacking drive or intensity, and in fact it looks like the additions of Oubre, Beverley, Covington, and Batum have actually upped the intensity of the team. They’ve replaced the sluggish James Harden aura with a handful of players who provide the opposite.

That’s true but I did see a sequence of him getting it down low, clearing Porzingis out and Porzingis had to to just foul him. Then they talked a little. If u show me it once, it can be done more lol.

Why Oubre wasn't in the game must be 24 dimensional chess, cause I don't get it. He had no fear against them, and he rides the pine. I'm hoping Nurse was just experimenting....hoping at least.

Yea I don't get it. I don't know if it's because Oubre got the tech bit I don't think he got back on the floor after that. Did he?

Your right, he didn't, he was whining about the call. I think we need Oubre out there in that situation, but its early, hopefully Oubre earns the right to be out there.

I do think that's a great closing lineup, if we aren't getting pressed. Not every team is capable of doing what the Celtics did at the end of this one, but an adjustment will have to be made for the Celtics to matchup at the end. Oubre isn't known as let's just politely say high IQ, so Batum maybe could make up for it.

Man what a difference to have a real coach. Night and day the way we have been playing so far.

Also letting go Harden fat loser lazy ball hog ass has been addition by sustracción.

We still probably need one more quality player to really compete in the Playoffs tho.

Damn good win and some things to learn from down the stretch. I loved the pace and ball movement on offense, and the aggressiveness and rotations defensively. Nurse's rotations were excellent, and Maxey was a monster in the second half. One thing - Melton cannot be on the court in the closing minutes against this team. Not sure why Nick went away from Oubre, but his size and lack of fear is tailor made for this kind of game. It's so refreshing to watch this team after the malaise of the last three years.

Really funny (actually not), but after playing the way they did for 48 minutes, it's as if the ghost of Glenn took over and all of a sudden we had Embiid in ISO, 25 feet from the basket with the shot clock winding down, just like the 'good' old days. Nick has to come up with better game closing sets.

Good win.

Daryl, now go upgrade Melton.

Night and day between having Harden and Tucker close games and with the guys we went tonight. Look how f’d up the clips is right now.

There were some bone headed fouls but Maxey playing this well defensively makes it that much easier to not play Melton when he sucks, and he sucked tonight.

I could definitely see that lineup with Oubre and Batum to close.
