only if he came so cheaply that Por would never do it. I like Oden, I think he still has great potential, but the dude is just frail :( (in a huge beastly sort of way)

No way i give up more than contract filler and a future pick for him. :(

Is it possible that Hassan Whiteside will be traded to the 76ers with the Kings having 3 centers? Kings would probably want Thad, but I am kind of negative about trading Thad for the unknown. :D

To be honest, I would trade either Lou or Thad for Oden in a heartbeat. I know that he has a checkered injury history, but I can't get the image of him absolutely dominating a Florida frontcourt with three 1st round picks (Noah, Horford and Speights) in that 2007 national championship game, albeit in a loss. His upside is EXTREMELY underrated right now.

I think the time is right to inquire about his availability as well, since the only person more of a fan of Oden than me was Pritchard. He literally is a one man rebounding and defensive game changer with the right coaching and good health. And while his offensive game is raw, he is not without skills there either.

I would certainly give up Lou for him and I think that either works or is very close to matching salaries. Thad is possible but I would have to get more back to coerce me into doing that. I do like the upside of Oden and taking that chance could really pay off.

So, okay, I'd give up LWill... but Por would never take LWill back in an Oden deal. Even if we through in an unprotected 1st. Although...

Jrue / Turner
Turner / Iggy
Iggy / Thad
Brand / Speights
Oden / Hawes

would be a fun 8 man rotation to watch if they could all stay healthy.

LOL.. The PTB isn't going to give you Oden for Thad or Lou.

To Bos: Michael Beasley

To PHI: Kendrick Perkins

To MIA: Thaddeus Young & Willie Green

Trade ID #5578987

The Sixers get their tough as nails center to help sure up a weak frontcourt and clear up their rotation a bit.

The Heat move Beasley who Riley doesn't seem to want anymore. They have next to no one on the roster so Young comes in to either start at the 3 or come off of the bench should the team land Johnson or Gay during free agency. Willie Green is a bench player for one season.

The Celtics bring in some youth and talent to play on the wing. Pierce will slide over to SG to replace Allen and Beasley slides into the starting lineup at SF. The hole Perk leaves behind is filled in by Brad Miller (the Celts are apparently going to go after him).

Holiday/Williams
Turner/Meeks
Iguodala/Nocioni/Kapono
Brand/Speights
Perkins/Hawes/Smith

The rotation looks a little clearer with Speights possibly taking over for Brand at PF if he improves enough.

Really good idea. It's a fair trade and solves the team needs for all three teams.

Peja Stojakovic
David West

for

Elton Brand
Louis Williams
Thaddeus Young
Marreese Speights

David West has two more seasons left on his contract at smaller numbers than Brand. Trading away Lou & Speights contracts position the Sixers for 2012 free agency.

Hawes -Smith
West - Nocioni
Iguodala - Peja - Kapono
Turner - Meeks
Holiday - Green

Can't see NO doing that deal. Having Brand and Okafor on the same team makes them the most overpaid frontcourt by far and possibly the least athletic as well.

I don't think that the Hornets will do it, but I would expect most Sixers fans to overvalue the young players. If the Sixers throw in a 1st round pick it's a done deal IMO.

Sixers trade:
F Thad Young
F/C M-16.

Grizzlies trade:
C Hasheem Thabett
2011 1st top-5 protected

This is the kind of gambit both teams can take. M-16 is a solid
prospect and maybe he'll turn this thing around. And Thad can
replace Rudy if he opts out. Given Thab's being a project,
I think a protected pick is proper compensation.

It's a fair trade, IMO. And would really look good if Gay signs with other team. But the thing is, I 'd only do the trade if Thabeet is ready to produce. Because I'm not going to rely on his development at the C position while paying both Iggy and Brand with Max money.

SALARIES:
Andre Iguodala:
56,500,000/4 years

Al Jefferson:
42,000,000/3 years (expires the same year with EB42)

EDGE: AL JEFFERSON

Stats:

Andre Iguodala:
18.6ppg 5.8rpg 4.6apg 1.8spg 32% 3pt 46FG% 72FT%

Al Jefferson
20ppg 10rpg 1.4bpg 51FG% 71FT% (past three seasons)

EDGE: Tied

Team needs:
Another Facilitator or a borderline/allstar caliber big man?
Yes, we need Iggy to some extent. But with Thad's ceiling and the addition of Evan Turner, it makes Iggy very expendable. Trading for Al J, helps us solve our glaring problem with our frontcourt.

EDGE: Al J

76ers:

Jrue
Turner
Thad
Al Jefferson
Spencer Hawes

Al Jefferson is a PF and not a center. Good thing we have Spencer Hawes who can help Al J's lack of superior interior defense. Hawes and Al J gives you two big men who can give you 1.4 to 1.6bpg. And on the other hand, Al J compliments Hawe's lack of rebounding ability. From a team standpoint, if Al J didn't work, we had A LOT of capspace in the summer of 2013 where we can sign big time FAs (i.e Dwight Howard) with Evan Turner, Hawes, Jrue and maybe Thad to surround/lure them.

Injury history, defensive liability vs rarely misses a game, expected by the coach to make an All-NBA defensive team.

I can't argue with that. I know Al J's limitations, so do I know Iggy's. Both guys have their baggages. If Al J doesn't have his injury history, I don't think we'd be able to trade Iggy for one of the most promising big man who averages 20+ppg and 11+ rpg with 1.7bpg.

But from the news I'm hearing from the Wolves, they are expecting a comeback from Al J this season (focusing on his core). Because he's considering this season as a do or die for his career.

I'd still take the risk for Al J. Then like I said, if it didn't work, we'd be in a much better shape in the offseason of 2013 to lure max FAs like D-12.

Al jeff is 6 foot 8!!! And played for a 15 win team put him on a good team ( not great) good and he avg 14 and 8. You overvalue al jefferson. I would rather have weezy jefferson shooting lefty.

Nobody wants Al Jefferson. He has a total of three surgeries (two on his knees, one on his ankle) already and he hasn't even turned 26 yet. His explosion and athletic prime is going to be over in the very near future because of it. And he doesn't defend a soul so he'll be virtually useless once this occurs.
