So what are the thoughts with the recent Rod Thorn news. It would seem they will want to target a top 5 pick if they are trading up. Otherwise they feel like they can sit at 15 and get a guy just as good as at 6.

if they have a guy in their top 5 sitting there(henson maybe) they will trade up...otherwise they are content waiting.

its all posturing at this stage tho......cuz i know they know they probably gotta get higher than 15 to get ross or rivers. perry jones is a potential fallback plan at 15

Any chance we try to get an early 2nd somehow? There are some interesting guard prospects(Lamb, Cunningham, Johnson) to be a nice addition if we let go of Lou.

Yeah but Henson isn't a top 5 prospect though. Can't see him over Davis, Robison, Beal, Barnes and Kidd-Gilchrist. So smokescreens considered maybe Henson is the smokescreen for Lamb?

SF, would they trade up/ trade Iggy to get Waiters? They seemed high on him a while ago. Thanks.

Fifth on the 76ers board would be okay. But fifth overall prospect would be bad. I would feel a lot more comfortable with him at 15 than trading up with Iggy to get Henson if that's the plan. But you said he wouldn't get past 9 and Detroit.

If the front office brass feel they are closer to contending than rebuilding, why would they be so motivated and rushed to trade their best player?

What are they contending for the 8th seed and a 1st round exit?

Or just trying to add shooting ,scoring and athletic length/blocks and hope rest of team improves. Nothing we can ro this offseason puts us on par with miami or even close.

I was responding to Eugene guess I should have quoted him.

Yeah we are never ever going to contend with Miami with the players we have now. So you move forward and trade Iggy amnesty Brand let Lou and Hawes walk. Hope that Jrue and Turner continue to progress under Collins. If not we will have a high lotto pick next season and maybe we get lucky and get Noel or Muhammad.

Eactly...moves this year should be for 2-3 years down the road...they still should get in the playoffs, but the eye has to be for 2015 or so when Wade may have a lessened skill set and you can truly contend. The moves being discussed don't knock you out of where you currently are, but give you some upside for a few years down the road as well. Trading Iguodala doesn't automatically put you back in the bottom 5 teams in the league.

Agree. Moving andre gives turner full time minutes to handle the ball. Gotta see what ya,have

Sixer Fan,

As of this morning I have seen a few things floating around that the Sixers were impressed with Henson's workout... enough that they are again exploring a move into the top 10 (trade with GSW at #7 or TOR at #8) to potentially get him. Was just curious where this information came from? Thanks alot.
