VinBaker6 wrote:Bryan Colangelo is first and foremost a man of character. High character at that. He prides himself on putting a premium on acquiring character guys.

He's acquired 4 of the Raptors' rotation players, all high character guys. He's a talented linguist and a man of many talents in the boardroom when it comes to communicating with owners. He's also incredibly savvy with the media, using buzz terms like "organic growth" or "accelerating the rebuild" (which you guys will see plenty of).

Perhaps his only downside is that he doesn't drink water bottles at his press conferences, he's always incredibly hesitant at taking a sip.

Good luck Philly, Bryan will absolutely do great things with your franchise.

PS Did I mention he puts a high premium on character?

You're better than this Vin.

Agents will definitely love Bryan Colangelo when he maxes f'ing Evan Fournier + Harrison Barnes + Mike Conley. Our own "big 3", here we go!

I really wish I could root for another team but, I'm too emotionally involved. I may have to step away for a while.

The really sad part is Hinkie set this team up to make some serious noise, now BC will get all the credit.

If these f'ing idiots just allowed Hinkie to do his job, we'd have Porzingis + Noel + Embiid and Hinkie would still be on his way towards leading us to a championship.

2x NBA Exec of the year. That was easy. What did Hinkie do? I'll wait. You can't lose epically and expect to keep your job. You can't make such large mistakes that your boss has no idea if you are in control of the franchise and has to hire a babysitter; and expect to keep your job. Any GM could've done what Hinkie did. All he did was tear down the 76ers. That's easy. He did not do one single bit or rebuilding in three years. He won't be missed.

Judging by the reaction here, most people are sad/pissed that Hinkie is gone.

When BC was let go in Toronto it was a gigantic celebration. There were exactly 0 sad fans. He was the worst.

I'm not as angry as some of you are about Hinkie stepping down...This is sports, this is what happens....Especially in this city. It's a shame we will never get our "James Harden", maybe this is a sign the tanking is over. Remember...He said, "you'll know it when it's over". I don't know man, I'm pissed, don't get me wrong. I will explode with the rage of a deranged Grizzly Bear if we hire Mike Fking D'Antoni as our head coach. You just knew something was up when Colangelo and Pringles were added to the mix. Teams just don't do that...You don't hire a guy like D'Antoni to be an assistant/collaborator with Brett Brown....That's the dumbest crap i've ever heard. Same thing with Colangelo....To "oversee" the process....Like Slam Hinkie needed a babysitter. I don't blame the guy for stepping down.
This sucks, I am officially the fan of the three dumbest organizations in Basketball (Sixers), Baseball (Phillies), and Football (Miami Dolphins). I'm too old to jump ship and root for different teams, but my feet will be up in a grave long before this city or this basketball does anything relevant ever again.

People on here were already calling on Hinkie to give Barnes the max... pretty sure I've seen Conley as well. Let's not act like all of Sam's moves were gold.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
