Not sure they have the assets to acquire Noel. It would have to be something outrageous like Noel for Holiday, their #6 pick, 2017 pick, and swap rights for 2018, but don't think NO would do that, nor do I think BC is clever enough to even think of picks or swap rights.

Depends on who is available at 6. Could easily get your #3 ranked guy there. Dunn and Jrue is a pretty exciting backcourt.

I guess it's possible, but I don't see Dunn being there at 6 if he's the guy.

Key is Boston taking one of the big guys. Then PHX takes the other and it comes down to whether Thibs wants to make Rubio obsolete.

This is as ridiculous a proposal as the ones we're quoting from other boards

It's not a proposal. I said that's what it would take for the Sixers to agree to it, or at least what it would take for me to agree to it as armchair GM, and I stated that NO would not do that deal, nor would the Sixers offer it.

So, incorrect statement there. Just correcting you, is all.

Noel for #6 is probably fair.

They would be getting a worse player than Noel at #6, so I don't know how that would be fair or good for the Sixers.

Noel has one season before he starts making big bucks. You have a rookie under a great contract for 4 years.

and they would be getting a worse player, so not fair. That's all that matters. Money is no object anyway, the cap is going up a billion dollars. You don't make a trade if you're the Sixers to save money and sacrifice talent.

How dare someone offer the 6th pick for a guy who was the 6th pick in the 2013 Draft!

lol well what relevance is that? Porzingis was the 4th pick last year, would the 4th pick for him this year be fair?

Where you were previously drafted has no relevance whatsoever. It's what player you are trading vs what player you'll be getting.

Need a proven player for Noel. There's a very short list of guys I'd even consider trading him for.

I want to keep Noel, but If the Sixers decide that he is not in their longterm plans and the best possible offer for he/Okafor is the 6th pick, I certainly wont knock anyone for pulling the trigger.

At some point, the hammer has to hit the nail. We are not gonna run this 6 headed rotation of bigs all year....they want to start forming an actual roster.

Ainge is such a tool.

Honestly, I don't even want to deal with Boston anymore. Let them wallow in their misery with their 3rd pick in a 2 player draft. Let's get things ramped upwith the Suns. I've said it before, I'll say it again. If Okafor was in this draft, Boston would take him with the 3rd pick. So let him play hardball and move on to the next team.

It's cool guys they're just gonna draft Dunn to be their 5th string point guard. Boston has all the leverage you see.

BC said in his interview he really like 6 or 7 guys. I assume after Simmons and Ingram, he likes Dunn, Murray, Hield, Bender, and Jaylon Brown. Just a guess.

Not much separation there, from 3-8, in some people's eyes.

Should be interesting.

Also from Stein's Celtics trade talks story:
The Philadelphia 76ers, sources say, have been trying for some time to convince the Celtics to part with the No. 3 pick in a deal headlined by Sixers big man Jahlil Okafor or teammate Nerlens Noel, but Boston, to date, has resisted those pitches.‎

Boston is going to back themselves into a corner of having to reach on Chriss or Brown. Two guys with huge bust potential.

We are trying to convince them to part with 3? Ainge is always lowballing. It's like he got so used to ripping off his friends he forgot what a fair deal looks like.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Or spend a top 3 pick on someone that will be their 4th/5th guard next year. Which will push the two other guards they used 1st round picks further down the bench. Which you know just kills Ainge because you know how much he loves Terry Rozier!

And Turner will have to go elsewhere (though that may be a positive).

Sounds lovely.
