Not even sure if we're allowed to trade for him after sending out his rights this summer, but I'd be intrigued.

Pretty sure they sent his rights to OKC in the Horford deal. They should be able to reacquire him now. He wouldn’t be a bad target, either. The thing is Presti will almost certainly want a 1st because he always drives a hard bargain and they have an over abundance of picks. Meaning four 2nds is nothing to them.

EDIT: The Thunder are about to be 10-4. They are win now. Wonder if slight overpay could get their 25 pick back?

Melton, Reed, and Morris for Micic, Bertans, min filler, and 25 1st returned. That would set up a Godfather offer possibility.

Jesus, that was the Horford trade. I've completely lost track of time, lol.

What are we giving up all those firsts for? Tobi and Grant are at least equal in terms of value, and I'd argue that Harris is more valuable on expiring deal. Brogdon maybe costs a late first?
So I don't get it at all

I kinda felt the same way that it was a bit of an overpay, but still feel it would cost something. As you mention, I could see Grant and Tobi being even, so the rest is for Brogdon and Williams. I more so like the resulting trade. Would you do it for one 1st and a couple 2nds?

I shot down the idea of him being available this summer, but the Warriors are off to a slow start, as has Wiggins in particular. He'd make a TON of sense here and is locked into a contract, unlike OG. He's not quite OG level on defense, but he's still a high end wing defender, and has more of a bag on the other end.

As I said with Klay, we're a bad direct trade fit with the Warriors, but if there's a 3 way to be had with a seller, I'd love to get Embiid his college buddy.

Was thinking something with Pascal to the Warriors. I think that would probably require CP3's involvement for salary, so not sure I love the overall impact on GSW. I'm assuming he gets bought out by the Raptors in such a scenario.

Warriors get Siakam, Trent Jr, KJ Martin
Raptors get CP3, Korkmaz, Morris, Kuminga, picks
Sixers get Wiggins

(Picks would come from both Warriors and Sixers)

You're giving a pick for Wiggins? Seems like he's back to being a negative contract.

I think?

Maybe I'm off?

He's been bad early this year, and missed a lot of time last year. Guys with his traits tend to cost though. And I like the number he's locked into. And we've seen him impact games at the highest level in ways that would be meaningful for us.

I'd prefer OG, but not sure when you factor in both the cost to acquire and cost to keep him.

Rockets fans on the trade board would apparently rather trade Jabari Smith than Tari Eason. Just throwing that out there.

Warriors probably need to cut payroll if they intend on bringing back Klay. They are knee deep in the luxury tax. They could cut CP3 and save 30 mil but Klay will probably demand 25-30 mil minimum which will have them treading near that 2nd apron.

Expirings and picks for Wiggins should be a dream come true for their situation unless they value Wiggins over Klay

If the Nets said "Mikal and Ben for Tobias, Morris, Korkmaz, and all the picks (three 1sts, four 2nds)"... yes or no?

If you’re talking about Ben Simmons you must be kidding!
He might be the most hated athlete in Philadelphia history!

Now I want to see this to see the dichotomy of the fanbase/media praising Bridges as the prodigal son, while Simmons is treated like a true villain. Although, I'd be worried that Ben's jealousy would grow to the point of trying to run Bridges over in a car in downtown Philly. I've heard of people getting away with it.

From a financial position, sure, but they've been willing to spend exorbitant amounts of money in the past. Obviously they drew a line in the sand in terms of future spending with the Poole salary dump/CP3 trade, but I'd be surprised if they took that route with Wiggins. Time is ticking with Steph, they need immediate help.

Sixers out: House, Korkmaz, ‘26 OKC 1st, 2 ‘24 2nd’s
Sixers in: Kuminga, AJ Griffin, Jackson-Davis

Hawks out: Capela, Bogdanovic, AJ Griffin
Hawks in: CP3, House, Korkmaz, ‘26 OKC 1st

Hawks arent good enough and need to clear roster and cap space. At the cost of AJ Griffin (who isn’t even in their rotation currently) they clear $39M of cap space after the year and get a future 1st.

Warriors out: CP3, Kuminga, Jackson-Davis
Warriors in: Capela, Bogdanovic, 2 ‘24 2nd’s

Warriors have a quickly closing window and this trade makes them a much better team for the next 2 years. Capela, Draymond, Wiggins, Klay and Steph with Bogdanovic as 6th man makes them pretty dangerous. CP3 isn’t giving them much and Kuminga hasn’t taken off, I think something like this would make sense for them to gamble on keeping championship contention.

Definitely. 3rd guy in Mikal. Backup big and facilitator in Ben or cut him.

There's gotta be a team who would give a protected first for Melton, that the Sixers can then flip with Morris to WSH for Tyus Jones and Delon Wright.

If Reed is just a backup C would you trade him for TJ? He's got one more year after this year with a partial guarantee. If there is any plan to utilize Bball in a double big I wouldn't do it but it doesn't seem like that is the plan.

Morey doesn't like TJ though. He has come as close as he can to saying it straight out on the Ricky before.

I share this fear. Morey's been great so far, so just hoping he's blowing a bit of smoke, but it is his M.O. historically.

Agreed. Morey historically either swings big or doesn't swing. He doesn't do small improvements on the margins via trade. Hence why he tells Spike and Mike he doesn't need a backup ballhandler because they won't crack the rotation.
