I would have been over the moon if we got a bigger Pritchard, no frills effortless gunner to pair with the big oaf.

I mean if we end up with peak/prime Lowry (once again bigger) that's one heck of a get at that pick.

So far between Maxey I find McCain to be more crafty and more physical. Maxey has dumb speed just needs to get more tricky inside

Tell you what though we shouldn't have a high turnover count if both play

More youth less old heads handling the ball. I mean I always shutter when Oubre starts dribbling it, PG thinks he's harden or when Embiid bounces the ball on his foot.

Once again outside of Lowry whose funnily enough a guard the rest are pos at facilitating/playmaking/passing

Let guards do guard things

McCain reminds me a lot of Steph with his combo of playmaking, shooting, and off ball activity. Dude is a scoring threat for the full 24 second shot clock. Obviously don’t expect him to replicate Steph’s career but thats his archetype.

Maxey is still a modern day Tony Parker to me. Elite speed & quickness but he needs to be weaponized in a cohesive offensive system to unlock his full value. Can’t expect him to carry a team running spread PnRs.

Parker and Lowry should be there governors for learning for both I reckon.

Still think Maxey has a learning curve to go. But that will come with age and shifting gears

But if both get super dangerous inside the outlook is so good going forward

Was just about to post the same thing. McCain's run has come out of the blue and been completely unexpected, but now the secret is out and teams are going to start watching film on him and scheming for him. He looks like he's for real, but the acid tests will be coming up.

So far he went up against Brunson, Green, Okoro and Suggs it will be interesting to see how he operates when a longer guy sticks to him

But the last two names gives me a ton of positive outlook going forward.

F it Ill say it now we have bigger TP and bigger Lowry

Maybe just maybe the universal karmic powers are resetting the balance for all of the voodoo going on lmao

He passed the first test with flying colors last night. The Magic game-planned for him and tried to matchup Suggs on him as much as possible. It worked for the first few mins when McCain barely touched the ball. Then McCain figured it out and proceeded to burn them all night.

What plan ? Does that plan including CP3 and their blatant whistle ?

Didn't Magic have their best defender Suggs on him? Seems like teams know that we're undermanned and that he's been a big part of our offense.

Suggs is probably the best defensive PG in the NBA and McCain lit him up. That game turned me into a true believer because Suggs was full on face guarding him & it didn’t matter.

Agreed. Suggs was pressing him like it was a playoff game. McCain also had zero help because no one else was scoring and Caleb Martin was just turning the ball over with his passing

Now imagine them having to choose between Maxey and McCain to put Suggs on. Instead they barely have to consider Lowry being on the court.

Im one of the biggest Maxey fans here, since his rookie year, but i think McCain can be better than him, as he seems to be able to be a good pg, his shot looks to be be purer than Maxey and his mid range jumper looks OP, which is a great weapon in the playoffs. Its really rare to a rookie have a great sequence of games like Jared is having, which show his great potential.

If he can work with Maxey on the backcourt, we can have a similar potential to the Cavs backcourt, with the benefits of having two more allstars, with PG and Embiid( if they can get back to their regular playing level).

I see McCain & Maxey as pretty terrific compliments to each other. McCain looks like a more natural PG who can run a sustainable half court offense while Maxey is a game breaker who can get hot for 3 minutes & completely shift the momentum. I can’t wait to see them running fast breaks together.

I’ll be curious to see how McCain holds up defensively, he seems like a strong/smart player so he’ll probably be league average at worst imo. Maxey has actually shown considerable upside as a defender with the ability to generate steals & blocks without taking unnecessary gambles.

Also as a side note - I’d ban Morey from trading picks for the rest of his time in Philly. He’s way better at finding value in the draft than in the trade market.

True, but he’s also about to have way more space with our top 3 guys rounding into form.

I look at Morey toward the end of his Nets tenure. He traded Paul to OKC, along with 2021 swap, 2024 first, 2025 swap, and 2026 first, for Russell Westbrook. Five years after his departure they are still stuck having three years (2024-2026) of no high first-round picks.

And Morey admitted that he offered the Nets two first-round picks in place of trading Matisse Thybulle. Then Thybulle barely played again for the Sixers.

You’re almost always better off keeping the picks if you aren’t getting a surefire star in return. Teams trading multiple picks keep losing trades to try to salvage their current situation, yet GMs recklessly throw picks around for minimal on-court value. And when your front-office has a good track-record of finding starters while picking in the second half of the first round, the picks become even more valuable.
