Christmas?

Last time he hyper-extended his knee he missed about a month.
Are you taking over/under the "big three" play one full game together?

Two silver linings:

1) Embiid looks like he's back

2) Team actually fought back in the end

If Maxey can get back to form maybe we can win some games with a healthy Big 3 of Jo, Maxey and McCain.

We don't play a legit contender until Dec 21st (Cavs). If we can't win 6 or 7 of these 9, then we should consider shutting down Embiid, if that's even possible.

Yeah this is it. If we don't come out of this next stretch looking much better, it's legit time to tank.

If the Sixers are smart a minimum of 4 weeks and probably up to 12 weeks. You're now at a point where the knee has twice been strained and is at risk of becoming unstable. Sixers would be idiots to rush him back until that knee is 100% recovered and stable. So clearly they'll say he's day to day and will be re-evaluated next week.

I'm not 100%, but I think this was Embiids first game where he was actually a positive +/- on the floor this season. We've seen similar things from him when he's come back in the past. Takes him time to shake off the rust.

3. Even on an off night for him, McCain still put up 20 and nearly shot 50% from 3.

It's sacrilegious at this point not to include McCain in any silver lining list. :)

Knew Embiid wasn’t washed. You don’t go from scoring 50 8 weeks removed from surgery to being washed 36 weeks removed from surgery. He’s fine he was just feeling sorry for himself and being pouty like he always does, plus being out of shape.

Unfortunately they’re so bad it doesn’t seem to matter.

Maxey
McCain
Martin
Yabu
Embiid

That's a better lineup than with George. Give him 1.5-2 months to get 100% because we don't need him out there if he's feeling unstable in his leg and can't beat LaRavia off the dribble. If that's just who he is now, then we have bigger issues regarding him.

Yeah this was back to a classic Embiid game where we got rolled only when he was out. A good sign amidst this tragedy.

He’s hurting the team if he keeps playing like this. Might as well sit it out for the rest of the year.

Maxey at 100%, McCain maintaining this play and Embiid close to 100% would be enough to carry the offense.

I think the out of shape thing is... It doesn't just mean FAT. He's obviously not fat, and in better shape... But his body wasn't NBA game ready from a cardio stand-point.

Although I still don't think he completely trusts his knee, and maybe he never will (and maybe he shouldn't)

A star putting up star numbers is to be expected, not a silver lining!

This was probably the slowest I've seen Maxey look. Which I can understand coming off a hamstring. Hopefully it's not like Trea Turner and he can get back to last year Maxey and not be protecting his hamstring by taking it easy most of the season.

Bold prediction: Nurse gets fired and D'Antoni takes over for the rest of the year.

Biid simply took more shots and closer ones at that.

he was trying to be a set up man mostly in the first 3 games...and we can't make shots right now so yeah.

Some baffling coaching decisions tonight btw. WHy go zone when they were hot? Why no Yabu after he got hot. WHy McCain went so long with out any shots? Why do we close out like drunk idiots? or help in the paint when you have Joel Embiid back there?

just awful all around lol

Tepid prediction: Nurse coaches the rest of the year because of all the injuries.

Nurse said that McCain will be the PG with Maxey coming back. Things like this is why I actually like Nurse. He does boneheaded things like not play the best Sixer in this game (Yabu), but I like his understanding that he has a wildly talented rookie that needs to be on the court most of the game.
