I'm not ruling out Love, but there are other reasons to have athletes at every position. It helps to be able to actively trap and make defensive switches to generate tempo. You need five good athletes on the floor to maximize this type of pressure defense.

Right now most of our players can guard 3 positions off of switches- which has been one of the big advantages of having Young out there. in fact, with Carney, Young and Iguodala you really can put on serious defensive pressure. I wonder how much throwing in a widebody like Love would hamper our pressure D.

Well, as I have said in many posts before, I like Love way more than most guys here. My whole argument against him in this post stems from the comment that he's a great fit for our up-tempo style. That is all I disagree with. I think he's good for many reasons, just not the one related to him fitting on a fast break type team. Guess we will have to agree to disagree on that point.

I don't think Love would be a good option.

I agree that i would be for Serge Ibaka. He could end up being a steal like Young was in the mid first round.

6 foot 10 with a vert that is atlest 42 inches and may be higher (if you have seen the video where they can not raise the vert bar any higher you know what i am talking about)

They actrually say he may not be as much as a project as some say. Word is his Offensive game is further along then other imports he is compaired to.

I know you cant go off of the clips you see, but from some of those clips, it seems like he has IT... He seems to be very active and good blocker... and it Looks like he has a good Shot from the free throw line, and he has also made some 3s.... He get down the court fast and have even seen him go coast to coast putting on some moves in one clip. With him and Sam down low I think teams might be afriad to drive in. Not to mention adding him to this team... we could run on anyteam.

I Think he will end up going top 10 though like YI did after teams get to meet him and see what he can do.

It's interesting that we now discuss the up-tempo style that the Sixers are currently playing. In the past, I think a lot of board discussions have ignored this when talking about PFs that we want to go after like an Elton Brand, etc.

In the free agency and the draft we need to go after versatile, long, athletes that can play PF, C, and maybe even SF, not because it's a need, but because they simply have the ability. That's who will fit into the Sixers schemes. I see this team becoming the poor man's Suns. We also need shooters, badly.

I may be in in the minority here, but I would much rather see the Sixers deal Samuel Dalembert than Andre Miller at this point. I don't think his value could get any higher than it is right now. Would a team like Golden State be willing to deal Biedrins (RFA next year) in a package for Sammy????

Charles,
It's a LOT harder to replace a decent 5 than it is a PG. Unless you plan on drafting Thabeet, I would keep Sam here.

Sammy is a solid rebounder and shot-blocker, but if you compare his numbers to Biedrins....they are pretty comparable. Plus I think Andris has more offensive potential then we've seen out of Dalembert.

Both are relatively unkown to fans
Both are better known for their defense
Both play against inferior competition
Both are considered athletic marvels
Both are raw
Both are considered hardworking

I wanted no parts of Sene and I want not parts of Ibaka

as with most of our discussions lately, we just have to hope that eddie really knows his stuff, and makes the right choices whether we like them or not

Stefanski said that he wouldn't expect anything big to happen tonight or even tomorrow, but things could pop at any time.

Stefanski seems like a straight shooter who doesn't BS, so I take what he says as the truth and not misdirection.

I'd say right now a 20% chance at best a deal goes down.

Trade Iguodala please. Iguodala+Willie Green+Louis Williams should get us a really good player.

Any deals being discussed right now could result in decreased minutes for that player tonight................. Unless they are already on the pine.

They are talking alot around the league, but nothing is close.

My buddy doesnt seem to think anything is gonna get done. If something does..it will be small in nature.....as I talked about in previous posts.
