Wow. I know its a highlight video, but it shows his game is post scoring, impressive dunks, blocking shots. His averaged 7.5 rpg as a rookie in 26 mpg. And he scored 9ppg. I would think he could be a starter, no?

Give him 32 mpg and he should be on pace for 13ppg, 10rpg, 2bpg...maybe I'm completely wrong though.

If he did average those numbers and have an impace like that though, he would look very nice as our starting PF next to Hawes.

Hawes
Gibson
Deng
Turner
Jrue

With Lou/Meeks/Speights/Smith/Thad/Nocioni off the bench. And 2 first round picks in 2011. AND we have a chance to get rid of Willie Green in the process?? I'll take it.

I wouldn't trade Iguodala for a couple of backup big men... even if they are quality backups. I definitely think we should keep him. Gives us a guy that can challenge Turner to get better in practice (and going up against Turner everyday could help him as well).

Sorry, that reason is not good enough for us to keep Iggy. But if we plan to compete, even though we're obviously not ready, then we need to keep Iggy.

Seems like a nice young prospect. I don't believe for a minute that LAC wouldn't move him for Iguodala though. The Clippers need a small forward to complete a pretty nice looking starting five. Jordan is a bench player for them. In fact, Jordan & Aminu would probably be needed for Iguodala.

When you are in the sixers situation you sometimes need to make calculated risks. Deng and Taj give you nice length and talent which may be nice additions to the current roster. I am not for dumping iguodala but those two plus a pick isnt bad value.

Maybe a deal like one that would send Deng/Gibson to NOLA and we get a guy like David West

I would love this trade.

I like the idea of Iggy to Chicago, Deng to Clippers, and Gibson, Jordan, TPE, 1st round pick to Philly.

The Chicago trade is the best offer we have gotten thus far for Iguodala. I would do it in a second.

I like it too, as long as Chicago doesn't have to take one of Kapono or Green. And the 1st rounder needs to have fairly good protection. Lotto protected for 2 years or so, then top 10.

Both Kapono and Green are expiring contracts.. Why would Chi be interested?

I think there is a chance we could get something(2nd rounder) for Kapono so not sure why you include him in a chicago deal. Also I dont like the Deng-Iguodala trade. Looks like making a move just to make a move. Doesnt improve cap status and Gibson/late 1st isnt enough for the difference between igoudala and deng.

It would severely cut into our remaining caproom to take them, and I think we could manage to acquire much better players than Green or Kapono with it.

Kyle Korver is a better version of Kapono. No thanks.

I like the idea of Iggy spun off to the Bulls with Deng spun off to the Clippers for Deandre Jordan and a TPE because of the salary cap space that would open up for next season.

There's going to be a lock-out and if a lock-out is somehow avoided it's going to take a drastic caving in of the NBAPA so contracts are going to be a lot different. The Sixers could make some moves once the dust settles. Use the 2011 1st round pick on the best big available. Sign Melo (even do a S&T with Thaddeus Young going out to Denver since he wouldn't have a spot anyway).

pipe dream scenario
Jrue/Turner/Melo/PF(Taj Gibson/Brand/or 2011 draftee)/Center(Hawes/DeAndre Jordan or 2011 draftee)

But regardless of Melo having cap space lets you do creative things in this league so getting to a situation where we have cap space would be very enticing.

I don't want to do this deal. I'd rather just keep Iguodala.

Trading Iguodala essentially for Deng would be a horrendous deal. It seems like that people have not figured out that Deng is a terrible three point shooter. Our shooting woes would be aggravated.
Trading Iguodala for rebuild purposes and getting nothing in return tops everything. Well, of course the Heat have positioned themselves as a clear-cut contender for the next years. However, their key players have not really hit their prime yet, so in contrary to Boston the ascension of Miami will be longlived. So a rebuildung process has to last quite a long time.

I really despise the idea of trading Iguodala for a lesser player (that is Deng) or basically for cap relief. The NBA is a league of stars, due to having at most 15 players on the roster. You need to value quality more than quantity.

And last but not least, don't make a team like the Bulls stronger. If their success would be shortlived, then it is fine, but they are also building a fairly young team.

underpressure you just stated in there the reason TO trade Iguodala. The Heat are set-up to dominate for at least the next 3 seasons. So you might as well look at the Sixers and wonder what they'll look like in 2013-2014 (assuming the players terminate their contracts after 3 years) if not it could be 2014-2015 or 2015-2016.

Iguodala isn't going to be around then. With the lock-out looming and the NBA likely being able to force the players to cave-in on a number of issues I think we'll likely see longer rookie contracts at lower salaries, but with only the first couple years guaranteed.

The Sixers post-Miami thrice probably would have a Holiday and Turner in their prime and then after that? Who knows. I personally think EVERY NBA team should stay in 'rebuild mode' until they get that top-10 talent because without that player to build a team around you're not going to have a championship contender.

The Iggy for a TPE/Gibson/Jordan gives you a big in Jordan who's about to turn 22 to fit in with a Jrue(21), Turner(21). Pieces that might actually be here 3 or 4 years down the line. I think that should be the goal. This team CAN NOT think short-term which I know they're going to do. Stefanski is in win-now mode because he's worried about his job, Collins is not here for a rebuilding process he wants to get the team into the playoffs. Well that's nice, but I want a championship and in the NBA that means finding a superstar.

This team should be making moves and staying under the cap in order to maximize the ability to make trades and pick-up additional first round picks and then use those picks to move around up/higher into the draft in attempts to get that franchise player or to be financially able to sign/trade for that franchise player.

Iguodala for Deng would be a terrible deal for the sixers. Deng's contract is terrible and he doesn't give you anything that Iguodala or Thad doesn't already give you. At this point, I want to see how good of a defensive team the sixers can be with Dru, Turner, and Iguodala defending the perimeter and Nociono backing up Iguodala.

I'd like to see Stephanski call Cleveland and see if he can trade Thad plus either Green or Kapono for Varejao (preferable WG). If he can pull that off, then we would have potentially a very good defensive team:

Dru, Lou
Turner, Meeks
Iguodala, Nociono, Kapono
Brand, Speights
Varejao, Hawes
