Please point out the Bryan Colangelo accomplishments or transactions which inspire you to write that we're now an NBA franchise. I'll wait...

2x NBA Exec of the year. That was easy. What did Hinkie do? I'll wait. You can't lose epically and expect to keep your job. You can't make such large mistakes that your boss has no idea if you are in control of the franchise and has to hire a babysitter; and expect to keep your job. Any GM could've done what Hinkie did. All he did was tear down the 76ers. That's easy. He did not do one single bit or rebuilding in three years. He won't be missed.

Executive of the Year in no small part for taking Bargnani with Aldridge there and in consideration. What a perfect summary of a disaster this is going to be. It's so hard to be flat out wrong when discussing sports, but relying on awards voted on by local writers (or executives in this case) is one of the surest ways possible.

My condolances, guys. Think of the bright side, though, you still have Embiid, and Saric, and the Laker pick, and your own pick, and lots of cap space, and the lotto balls from Harris...er...I mean Ranadive. It will take a lot of two picks for Ish Smith trades to p*** all that away. All that Ranadive...er...I mean Harris...has to do now to succeed is not to hire Billy King or Bryan Colangelo.

The Sixers were the 1st pro sports team I rooted for, 40+ years ago. I just can't root for another team.

He titled a section "Thinking about Thinking" and referenced Lee Sedol. I am going to miss this man so much.

For those Hinkie fans saying they're now going to root for the Sixers to lose, I applaud you. Consistency is important.

This is a good day for the franchise. Hinkie was a terrible GM. His plan was stupid and his execution of it was clueless. That said, Harris still appears to be an idiot, and hiring the team president's son as GM is, well . . . not awesome. But, hey, baby steps. Now we just need to find a young Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, and Amare Stoudemire.

The only good thing about this whole situation is that we got to read the letter.

What a colossal mistake by the Sixers.

The one good thing about this whole fiasco is, even BC can't mess this off-season up. Now the following season all bets are off

This letter is super awkward....lol.

I'm not mad about Hinkie leaving. I am mad (if preemptively so) about the probable return to safe thinking that proved to not work before. I really wanted to see Hinkie up against the ropes with the edict to field a team for once....which was what was going to happen...now? ehhhhh it really feels like we are about to trade picks and players to appease outside fans...which is a major bummer.

he can mess it up a whole lot

by drafting a bust/rushing back embiid/trading one of our bigs for a crappy return/trading embiid before we see him play for pennies/etc

Uh no! You asked for reasons to be hopeful. I gave you two tangible and you replied with one mistake. I also asked why you are so butt-hurt over losing Hinkie. When he really hasn't done a single thing to make the organization better. Every single GM misses on draft picks if they are around long enough. And you can just ignore BC drafting Marion and Stoudemire; and trading for Steve Nash if you'd like. But that's why he won those awards and deservedly so.

Can you explain what safe thinking is? What was safe about trading for Bynum? or drafting Hughes over Pierce?

The Sixers have been mediocre for 20+ years because they made bad decisions....not because the process to build a championship was flawed.

for the Hinkie fans, seriously, I'm sorry. I didn't agree with the plan, but I can identify with being totally pissed off about the team's direction. Keep your head up. Good days will return. Someday.
