Needs to get used to NBA athleticism and speed, then he'll be alright. Similar situation with Saric last season.

Hey from the Turkish Republic. I know Furkan since years so I can answer any questions you might have about him.

Before all I think he's very lucky to be a part of this Sixers team. He's a smart kid that will try to make the best of this golden opportunity. He may struggle or shine; there is a wide gap between his floor and ceiling. What's certain is he'll need time. This does not mean he is too raw, in fact he can do tons of things well already. It's the speed and physicality of the game will trouble him.

He played his 1st SL game directly after a 10+ hour flight. He did not look like himself out there. Still he gradually got better and started to show what he can do.

There are many ifs with the current PHI roster so I'm not sure what kind of role he'll be given, not to mention any PT. He has some international experience, I'd say go ahead and throw him to the wolves but don't be disappointed if he struggles. On the other hand PHI should make the playoffs this season so winning may be as important as developing young players especially if the PHI starts the season strong.

Thanks for the input. Furkan looks very promising. The Sixers should help him develop. Anyway, in the news they showed jets shooting at cars in Turkey, that must be horrible. Take care.

Ugggg! Hated Giricek mainly because he was involved with the Korea trade, but he also sucked. If Korkmaz is Giricek, might as well cut him now and find another body for the roster.

If anyone wants to watch Furkan Korkmaz play:

;feature=youtu.be

he has 13 points so far with 5/6 from the field.

He's so good shooting off the dribble, which makes him a big threat out of the P&R with his decent decision making. But that defense though, he can't turn the corners quick enough and his lower body strength is abysmal. He's really long though, perhaps he can compensate with his length in a couple years.

Honestly, but him in the gym with trainers all year next year. Our back court already has Fultz, JJ, TLC, TJ, Bayless, and Sauce to rotate this year. I don't see where he gets minutes. Give him Embiid's trainer and a cheese steak per day and let him grow. I see Korkmaz coming over early as house money this year. I don't expect much, but I do expect to go nuts when he gets garbage time with 2 minutes left and makes a non-contested 3 or layup lol.

Korkmaz should be getting on the job training. The things he can learn from Redick, Simmons, Fultz, and others should help his career, greatly.

Thanks. Furkan and Jonah made Vegas Summer League worth the trip, even without Fultz playing. Korkmaz is better than I thought. Once he gets the defensive schemes, he'll be taking TLC and Stauskas' minutes.

It will be interesting who has the better career among TLC, Stauskus, and Korkmaz.

Stauskus - he might be the better PG of the 3. His midrange game improved and it helped his decision making.

TLC - a very good transition finisher and good defender.

Korkmaz - might be the best shooter and good defender.

As to the three, I'm sold on Korkmaz. At 19-20, he has, along with his shooting, a better handle and playmaking ability than TLC already, and almost as much as Stauskas. He also has a much healthier disrespect for his opponent than Stauskas. With all his skills, absolutely no reason for Stauskas to be as bad as he is. Just doesn't want to mix it up and swap sweat. Not for everybody.

I'm very hopeful Korkmaz can make himself into a player that can challenge for the Starting lineup. The 76ers are going to need some more good athletes to run with Simmons in order to maximize his ability.

Korkmaz has a great opportunity to learn a lot, he looks very promising.

TLC is very good in transition, he has good hands and finishes well. If he improves his defense and gets stronger, he and Korkmaz are very good SG prospects.

From the limited tape I've seen on Korkmaz he looks to be underrated playing off the ball. We know he's a spacer/zone buster, but he makes some good reads and looks adept at cutting behind the defense for easy looks.

yeah, i wouldn't worry about Furkan not getting enough minutes. i'd be thinking about who now gets moved to make room for this incredibly talented kid.

Is it me, or the Sixers played a lot Korkmaz at the SF spot?
There were always two guards with him on the floor.
