I really don't know Nerlens value around the league, but without teams like the Nets or Knicks signing him to an insane contract, restricted free agents are in a tough spot. I guess the Nets don't think he is worth the max bid, or they are more easily scared off by Dallas' ability to match than the Wiz were with Porter.

If Kyrie is your best player, you'll be lucky to make the playoffs.

GSW set the bar very high, especially with Durant taking a discount. Lebron needs to partner with an elite big, Porzingis, Anthony Davis, or Embiid. Not sure what's possible money wise:

Kyrie + Love for Carmello + Porzingis
Kyrie + Love for Anthony Davis + Jrue

Not sure teams want to help Lebron, but a quick move is probably necessary or he could see his domination fade away.

The Knicks aren't trading KP and the Pelicans aren't trading Davis.

Davis for Kyrie is really bad for NO.

Chris Haynes‏Verified account @ChrisBHaynes

ESPN Sources: On Kyrie Irving front, Cavs were given four preferred landing spots: New York, Miami, San Antonio, Minnesota.

NY has nothing other than Porzingis, who shouldn't be traded.

Miami has nothing period.

San Antonio won't trade Kawhi obviously, and I'm not sure what else they can trade.

Minnesota could trade Wiggins I suppose.

Kyrie has really put the Cavs in a bad spot here. He should have made his intentions known before the draft.

Now the only teams that could really give value for him would be horrible teams trading future lottery picks, which won't help the Cavs this year.

I'm sorry, but Kyrie wanting out of Cleveland at this point is a character flaw in my mind. He should be ecstatic to play with Lebron, and even if he isn't, the team becomes his next year if Lebron leaves.

I don't see how this ends well for him or the Cavs at this point. He just threw a grenade into the locker room of the second best team in the league, for his personal glorification.

Great talent. Bad teammate.

Couldn't agree more. I want nothing to do with Kyrie Irving.

Philly sports talk radio has been talking about trading for Kyrie. Just baffling :banghead:

Wiggins for Kyrie does make a lot of sense though. That is really what the Cavs should do, as they can't really get much back for him now. And the TWolves could do better than Jeff Teague for their aspirations now.

They are expected to make the playoffs with Butler now, and Kyrie would probably make them a top 4 seed

Minny could just play Butler at SF and maybe ask for Iman Shumpert or JR Smith to keep Crawford as a reserve

Idk I just would rather pair Kyrie with Butler than Wiggins with Butler. They probably won't trade Wiggins though

I think this is all just smoke and mirrors. Ownership and Kyrie will come to some sort of an agreement and all will be well in Cleveland. At least for this season. Next season LBJ leaves and Kyrie has his own team.

Minnesota does it because Kyrie is a better player.

The question is, why would Cleveland do it?

Swapping Kyrie for Wiggins makes Cleveland worse.

If that is true then that is one brownie point. Being asked to be traded at all is the problem though.

How can he possibly be unhappy on this team?

If Knicks drafted DSJ instead of Ntilikina, I'm pretty sure they'd be frontrunners with a packaged of DSJ+Melo for Kyrie.

Davis for Kyrie is really bad for NO.

How about Lebron + JR for Cousins + NO 1st 2018?
LeBron and AD would be exciting.
Kyrie, Love, and Cousins is not bad, however might be bad at defense?

So they don't get stuck with a negative value player on an albatross max contract.
