Zhaire's a better athlete and a better shooter, so...

And defender...

His shot needs a little tightening, but it looks like pretty good form to me.

Looks like both Smith and Fultz have similar height and length:

6'4" height in shoes
6'10" wingspan

Fultz may have grown slightly (perhaps he's 6'5" now), however he's a year older so Smith may also.

I think Smith has the body type to add 15-20 lbs of good weight (up to 215 - 220 lbs.) and keep his athleticism. I'd say he's more likely to be a Smart type defender, if for no other reason than Fultz should have a much bigger offensive load.

Most likely Smith ends up a tier or two below Smart on defense, but is a better shooter. Then it depends if he can develop the rest of his offensive game.

Careful, folks don't like you invoking the Smart name in reference to Zhaire. Still got the bruises from the pummeling I took a few pages earlier.

Smart has that supercharged frame since he was in college, it was evident how strong he was, Smith is a guy that will gain strength but will never look as wide, he will put on weight enough to contain most guards and to absorb contact when finishing.

Look like Bridges has been Fultz'd....something terribly wrong with the form on his jumper and looks vastly different than how it did in college...

Damn... that shot is ugly. He will never get that release off in the NBA.

Brett Brown learned well under Hinkie and watching Danny Ainge fleece teams. Always trade with the weakest GMs in the league.

So basically we fleeced them like Boston fleeced us with the Fultz trade. I'll take it.

That hitch has been there but it’s certainly exaggerated in this video.

One of the pre draft scoring videos on the internet actually questioned his shooting translating and comparing it to Lonzo Balls.

I assume it's a drill or something. This happening to two guys in a row is too weird.

Mikal's setpoint in his shot was always unorthodox, that's the big worry I had on him; if his shot doesn't fall in the NBA what does he offer offensively? He'd almost be unplayable despite being an OK defender.

So we should expect Smith to be 20point scorer in playoffs now? We basically did Fultz trade backwards.

I don't think there has been more than one or two trade-ups in the Draft Lottery era, that have been beneficial to the team that traded up.

He's a right handed shooter who is left eye dominant, that's why it looks a bit funky at times. However no evidence that those kind of shots have troubles with translating, at least to my best knowledge. Kevin Durant has similar cross preferences for example.

The motion from the dip to his set point is much different than it was at Nova, unless we see the same motion in SL I expect it is some sort of a training exercise to improve a certain part.

By the way Mikal Bridges shot excellent from NBA range this season on decent volume IIRC.

His team itself got fleeced by Ainge last draft.

Nothing should ever be compared to Lonzo Ball's shot form. Even Kevin Martin and Shawn Marion's shot forms look beautiful and perfect compared to whatever the hell Lonzo does.

He has high basketball IQ and is a very efficient slasher so he should still be fine playing in a system. He was the 2nd or 3rd best wing defender in the draft and has a 7ft wingspan so he should be better than just an OK defender.

I haven't been this excited for a 76ers rookie guard (not considering Simmons since I thought he would be a forward) since KJ McDaniels.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
