Read on Twitter

Even though it feels a little cherrypicked, it adds to my intrigue over Saben Lee. Then again, I liked Kris Dunn in his last year at Providence, so this could be setting me up for another burn. Either way, the stakes wouldn't be as high.

Damn, I was pumping up Josh Adams of Wyoming back in that day. Might have been the most explosive tiny player I've ever seen.

Is Chris Smith from UCLA a guy to take seriously? He'd only be drafted based on unlocking untapped potential, but he has improved substantially each year. Obviously there's a lot to like about a 6'8-6'9 G/F with some ball handling capabilities and a great shooting profile. He's also very obviously raw with limited athleticism. The 2.2 STL% is encouraging though.

26 points in a blowout win.

Bradley is a such a hidden star. Should be a top 10 pick.

I feel bad for Markus Howard. Has 30 points with 8 minutes left the in the game and he's the only one on his team in double digits. Losing by 17.

Powell is also cooking today.

Might try to watch the Nevada vs San Diego St game tonight. Jalen Harris vs Malachi Flynn. Could be a fun one.

When he and Hunter came in together, I felt like they were both showing a ton of potential as potential NBA players. Huff was a willing three point shooter, shot blocker, and 7ft tall. He hasn't really taken off in the production department (might be a Virginia thing more than any other factor) but he still is an interesting prospect. Wish he had progressed in the FT department instead of regressing (66% to 51%). Crazy game for him against legitimate NBA competition.

In terms of realistic picks for us, the guys I'm kinda honing in on due to their ability at combo guard are: Desmond Bane (TCU), Saben Lee (Vandy), Jalen Harris (Nevada), Myles Powell (SHU), Elijah Hughes (Syracuse), Devin Vassell (FSU), Mason Jones (Arkansas), Grant Riller (CofC), and some others. None of these guys are as obvious as previous drafts to me. Some have sizable holes in their games and others have concern me from a length/size standpoint.

Devon Dotson with our 1st round pick.

Dru Smith and Skyler Mays with 2nd round picks.

Franchise saving draft.

Dotson's thin frame and relatively low 3PA per game concerns me a bit. His numbers fall under what I like. There are a few guys who have this issue with me. Jalen Harris's slight frame is a similar concern.

Skyler Mays fit more what I'm looking for in prospects in terms of body type, broader shoulders.

I'm less concerned about Dotson being short and skinny. He's such a ferocious attacker on both ends of the floor, in spite of his size. Which puts him in the Kemba Walker Kyle Lowry spectrum as a prospect, to me. He reminds me so much of those guys. I'm already all-in on Dotson. The cherry on top would be a deep tourney run.

Don't get me wrong, there are guys who do make it with that frame, but they are harder to pin down. I mean, I can see Cassius Winston or Dotson carving out a career in the pros, but statistically probably not both.

I mean, lets look at who are the top players 6'1 and below: Trae, Chris Paul, Kemba, Bledsoe, Lowry, VanVleet, Sexton (although it says he's 6'3)... Two of them were selected in the 00's. Bledsoe has great length and strength. Trae put up some of the most insane numbers in NCAA history. Basically you're hoping to pluck a Collin Sexton out of the end of the first round. Certainly not impossible, but the probability is not great.

A common denominator with a high percentage of the tiny guys that make a difference at the next level is their point of attack defense. Which is an area Dotson really shines.

Yea, I just feel like hitting on those guys are an anomaly. But late in the first round, I'm not against taking the chance on a creator like him instead of a 3rd straight limited 3&D guard.

I honestly don't think he'll be available after his upcoming March Madness. Kansas should make a deep run as one of the better teams in the nation and Dotson is going to be flashing two-way brilliance in front of everyone. I could see him rising up draft boards. I'm honestly shocked he's even in the late 1st, early 2nd range, as is.

True, but this is Kansas we're talking about. It's either a trip to the Final Four or losing to Belmont in the first round.

I'm becoming more and more a Grant Riller guy. Wish he wasn't putting these stats up against garbage opponents.
