Pretty awful offense out of Ben the last two games. A lot of work put in over the summer and he continues to flat out avoid applying it in actual games. End this conversation, Ben.

They had the edge in rebounding and points in the paint. I think that was a first this season and more than likely doesnt happen if embiid plays.
Devin Booker got hot and propelled them to the win. Jrich and Ben were no shows on offense and Tobi bowed out in the fourth. Al did the best he could.

The problem I'm seeing here is that the team is touted to be so stiff defensively, but other teams are shooting very well from the field and beyond the arc, while scoring high numbers of points.

He was only a mild negative in the plus minus but lets be honest he was awful on offense. There is nothing on that Phoenix team defensively for him to have only 6 points. And he shot the ball 8 times. 8 freaking times lol. He is the main reason they lost. Embiid is out so your so called stars have to step up. Tobias and Big Al did. I got people talking about how this guy is a future top 5 player in the league I dont see it without a total attitude change. He is also basically the same player as when he came into the league. I actually like Ben a lot personally but I dont understand whats going on in his head 99% of the time. If his lack of offense is one of the main reasons they cant get by Milwaukee this year he is going to take a ton of heat next summer and rightfully so.
What's interesting is that lots of people say Embiid and Simmons are incompatible, yet when Embiid doesn't play, Simmons doesn't do any better than his usual.
If Embiid is truly holding Simmons back, then you would expect Simmons to go off when Embiid sits out.

Simmons holds embiid and every other player back. He is a bum at this point

97 opponents points per game in the 3 games Embiid has played
118 in the 3 he’s sat.
They should play Embiid.
Overall they are 7th in defense which isn’t great but should improve the more Embiid plays. Plenty of good signs with the defense though. Leading the league in defensive rebounding and forcing turnover rate and give up the fewest 3 point attempts. Some times guys like Booker and Lillard are just gonna make shots.

Re: Game 6: Philadelphia 76ers (5-0) @ Phoenix Suns (4-2)
Simmons is reduced to a screener or rebounder in the final possession of playoff games. You don't want the ball in his hands because A) he is not going to hit a game winning jumper B) he will not create space for his teammates while teams sag off him and C) you don't want him to be fouled. So the Sixers will have a $40M screen in the most pivotal possessions of the season. This is not a championship winning formula. The Sixers are trying to balance win-now with development. Don't waste years of Embiid's prime with the hope that Simmons will miraculously learn how to shoot. Trade him.

Any PG at this point that will atleast try on D and can create his own shot and hit a spot up shot. Building around embiid will win us a chip, trying to force around simmons will win us nothing but regular season games

If we keep winning games, there's no way we're trading anyone despite their poor fit on the team. Just gotta hope Brett can make it all work come the post season.

Ben is fine and all
But I too am just disappointed he doesn't shoot.
Regular season should be practice for him.
When is he going to try some shooting? In a vital play-off game?

Yeah, who knows. Ben is incredibly frustrating, but it's a luxury to have a player as young and talented as he is. I'd be worried that forcing a trade would leave us with much less than we have now.

Yea, it's not like the other FOs can't see what we are seeing. Unless there is a team forced to make a trade like the Spurs last year, we are gonna get much less than people imagine.
I think it is also hard to match salaries due to the extension kicking in next year.

I mean sure that would be nice.
but don't think many of those are on the market...
I mean Ben annoys the **** out of me too but if he is as **** as yall make him out to be...he's not going to fetch the perfect solution lol.
It be great to trade him for Doncic, Mitchell, Dame, and such...but I don't think that is on the table really. And again even w/ Ben's dumb stuff..trading him will probably hurt other aspects of the currently built team. I'm not even saying that Ben will start to hit 4s and **** but I am saying any major move should come after this season if it ends in failure. That way the team will probably also have a new coach and other changes rather than having to do it on the fly....yet again.
My point isn't that Ben is perfect and we gonna win all the chips for surrre but rather as of right now, the best option overall is riding it out and hoping that at minimum we can win perhaps in spite of Ben....the whole trade all the things mentality is like option H...its something that comes up after long periods of losing...not after the first damn loss of the season lol.

It's not that they lost, it's the way they lost. The faults from the past three years are still there, if not worse, and it showed that the Sixers are not going to win a championship unless something major changes.

If by that you mean Embiid not playing and at being at the peak of his powers, then sure.
Simmons had a bad game, he doesn't play like that every night. If it's so easy to stop him, why did he dominate the Celtics opening night? I just think people conflate the lack of off ball spacing he provides (which is constant) with him playing bad (which is not). If he didn't have a garbage game they don't lose. Despite being on the road, despite missing their best player, despite him not taking jump shots.
His shot stuff is more what's stopping them from being an unstoppable juggernaut as opposed to completely cutting them off from winning anything.

I wouldn’t be so sure of that, should the Sixers fail to reach the Finals. Agreed nothing is happening during this season except maybe a minor move or two.
