Without knowing who this guy is, we might have dodged a bullet with him going to Milwaukee. I can’t imagine they’ll give up on Doc after signing him to a long term contract.

Looking more and more like we'll be going the trade route. Time to delete all the bad stuff we said about current-day Jimmy Butler and Brandon Ingram.
Not sure why someone wouldn't realize an aggrieved James Harden would have aired those grievances frequently to his fellow Clippers teammates.
Clippers got a brand new arena opening next year. It's LA with the media and glitz that goes along with it. No way Paul George wants to give that up to come to Philadelphia.
Use Philadelphia to get a better deal out of the Clippers? Sure.
LeBron and Rich Paul also just use them to try to get LeBron either where he wants, or to make the Lakers draft his kid. Sure.
Neither is legitimately looking at Philly as their preferred destination one bit.
I just hope Morey realizes that. It's alarming when multiple credible writers are saying Paul George is Morey's Plan A.

One devastating development is Chicago’s commitment to being a fringe playoff team, which means they are going to overpay DeRozan big time.

I have trouble calling any of these media hacks 'credible', much less multiple ones. Where is the credibility in being used by agents and front office personnel with information leaks? And the 'star hunting' thing is like low hanging fruit, much easier to generate clicks than intelligently discussing a real off season plan.

Another reason why they'll also stick to demanding picks and/or players for Lavine.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
We all know signing George is Morey's first preference, but to suggest he's not working multiple other avenues to optimize the roster next year is disingenuous. I'm sure he's gamed out scenarios that haven't even been discussed here. He'll present the full max offer when allowed to, wait on it for a few hours, and move on to execute the other irons in the fire when it's obvious George isn't coming.
Unlike us fans who can simply say, "He's not coming, why waste time?", there are actual stakes for Morey. I am one of those that thinks there's zero.zero chance George signs anywhere but the Clippers but if Morey thinks George is the best use of cap for championship equity, he should try and get him no matter what the odds are and simultaneously work the other scenarios as part of a multifaceted approach to the offseason.

Unfortunately for some of you, I actually think we’re going to get LeBron. I don’t necessarily think that was him in the picture, but I just have that feeling he’s going to jump on an opportunistic situation where the team has good bones (Embiid and Maxey), had cap space to influence Rich Paul clients (KCP, Trent, etc), and will give him the opportunity to win one or two more.
The caveat is we’ll probably draft Bronny at 16 lmao.

The only laughable thing if that happened would be to see the Sixers now having the top two players who generate the most hate threads/post on the general board.

I guess it's fine if there's no trade available on draft night to wait and see, but if he turns down deals then in hopes of signing George or misses out on other free agents because he's waiting on his "plan A" then it's a problem.
Based on him waiting entire summers during the Ben and James sagas to get what he wants has scarred me. In the end, he got the right deal, but the first James season and this past season were basically wasted because of the waiting. We can't afford to do that this season.

Morey may be washed but generally he doesn't really leak legit stuff too much.
many of his moves have come out of nowhere sans maybe the Harden stuff and even then we didn't give up as much as "insiders" thought iirc.
yeah I am sure he wants PG, Bron, Jimmy....but anyone could have told you that.

I was looking at KCP the other day, not in this context, but as an alternative. Like what if Morey just paid KCP and OG or something.
I've always been a massive KCP fan. If Bron used his connects to bring him and Trent as two movement shooters that can defend that would be phenomenal.
Lebron as the most polarizing man on earth would make for Grade A theatrics next season as well.

Can you tell me what big moves Morey has made sans Harden?
Trading for CP3 and then trading him for Westbrook....ok, what else in 15 years?

Mavs ice cold from 3. 7-29.
Only 11 FTA. Midrange and legitimate foul drawers win you playoff games. Gets the team out of scoring ruts. Something we should consider in our personnel.

Signed Dwight to Houston (off the top of my head).

You still make the offer and give George the chance to say no. If the Clippers were willing to pay him it would have been done by now.
If Morey’s rep is costing the team FA’s, then he should replaced.
If it’s a trade, since the Nets are apparently nuts then the focus is on Utah.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
the only reason player will come here is if we max them out. GM rep doesn't really matter in this case.
no one is rushing to come to Philly unless they have to or get paid handsomely lol

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
Daryl Morey my life is in your hands.
You took a team that went seven the previous season to the now NBA champions and blew it up while they reconfigured and got over the hump.
Your final chance, or I need you tar and feathered and chased out of the city.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 2
If lebron comes, it'll probably be a trade to operate over the cap. This I believe is even more absurd than to think George is signing anyways other than the Clippers.
I think Morey is going to do something that hasn't even been rumored. No George, Butler, James, Ingram, Bridges x2, Markkenen. The only guys I think anywhere near rumored I think could happen are OG and Mitchell.

Didn't Elton call that the "Philly max" when we signed him?

The only way I can see LeBron coming here would be if he thinks coming back east and taking down the Celtics will cement his legacy. Other than that it's completely unrealistic to believe it can happen.
