He's just not good at actually catching the ball.

It's weird (Like everything with this team)

The even weirder thing is that he is a really good passer, so its not like he totally lacks eye hand coordination. Also has large hands, but seems to grab at the ball more than letting it come to him. I would seriously consider having an NFL receivers coach work with him on some drills to catch the ball better, it really couldn't hurt.

I really can't think of a player I have ever seen who is truly comparable to Noel. He is definitely raw and learning, I just have no idea exactly what he will be in a few years as he develops and the team does the same.

I understand he's beating up on high school kids here, but this is the guy I want to eventually see. There's almost no swagger to his game right now, the darts he's throwing at the backboard almost have no chance. Just lobs and hard drives to the basket. This should be his game.

Didn't he only average about 12 points in High School? That's nothing. These are highlights. I wonder how many misses and mishandles he had in High School. It's not like he dominated High School on on the offensive level like many other future NBA players. With all that said I'm still high on his defensive impact and how he can contribute to the team even if he will never average more than 12 points per game.

I'm sure he had his share of misses and mishandles. Just saying this is the kind of aggression I'd like to see from him. Anyway, I don't expect him to be a major scorer ever, but he could be more efficient pretty easily, imo.

Definitely a level of swagger and tenacity that aren't always there in his nba game.

There are players that live on easy looks in the NBA, with more offensive options that would open up Noel's game so much.

Agreed, teams pack it in against us on offense because we can't shoot which also means they collapse on Noel near the basket pretty easily. More threats on offense should help

People need to remember that Noel is averaging the most rebounds of all rookies, second most block to k.j, second in efficiency, par jabari, and second in points/rebounds/assists, par jabari again.

A line like that from a 20 year old raw center who sat out an entire year of ball, i reckon, is pretty darn good

Absolutely. I rate his rookie year so far as a solid B+ or A-.

He's going to be so much fun to watch with Embiid. He'll be even more fun in a rotation with Embiid and Saric.

He is clearly going to be a very good player. We just don't know what his role will end up being.

It might be as a bench player playing 25-30 min a night, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I think that he has been doing what could have been reasonably expected of him. He is a better player today than he was a month ago, he is healthy, and he is a stone cold stud as an athlete.

That jumper that he hit in the first quarter from about 18 feet was awesome. He just confidently rose up and hit it in the face of the defense. I realize that he isn't capable of doing that regularly, but as Charles Barkley says, what you can do once, you can do again.

His 2nd bucket tonight down low was great to see. He was 100% in control and calm making the move and getting the bucket. He's rushed most of those attempts this year. He's getting more comfortable. Two gripes are his hands cost him 6 points tonight and when he misses getting the steal it always leads to two points for the opponent. Has to pick his spots better going for the steals.

Not going to win ROY but damn he looks better lately. Solid D in this game and learning how to roll of the pick better.
The feedback I've received from our fans is they understand we are trying to build something great. Good decisions come from having a broad set of options and making tough calls. We will do it unblinkingly. We have to be willing to take smart risks-Hinkie

I am happy with him at this stage except for the hands. If he can catch it in traffic and put on some weight then he is going to earn a lot of money and get a lot of wins over his career.

Leads all rookies in rebounding, blocks and steals. Solid defense. Even some offensive moves and a semblance of a jump shot.

He is raw and will get better in all areas by working on his game, getting more NBA game experience and by adding weight/getting stronger. He is a hard worker, too.

A couple of things we can't overlook that many thought would be negatives coming into the season. First, he's been relatively healthy. Not a piece of glass as most thought. Second, he hasn't fouled out of a single game. Rarely been in foul trouble. Great sign.

Can't ask for much more. Future is bright with Nerls.

I've noticed Noel is usually has the worst +/- after every game. Why is that? Even when he has good stats himself he will be near the bottom of the team in +/-. What's the main reason?
