So if they make the playoffs how much consideration will BB get for CoY?

Re: Official Brett Brown thread
The difference between how we played the first 10 games of the season and the last 10 games have been night and day. I think it definitely shows the progress that Brown and Co. have been able to make with such a young team. Growing pains are real, and it looks like we're finally getting to see the benefit of that. Who knew this team was capable of putting up 72 in a half (WITHOUT EMBIID & SIMMONS!).

Is this in a correct thread? I think you are referring to Gerald, not Brett.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Re: Official Brett Brown thread
I like Brett Broown, but I though he was clearly outcoached against Houston .Obviously D'antonio had an inside track in understanding what the 76ers are trying to
do, and he exploited it. 9 dunks right down the middle in the first half, with seemingly no adjustments by Brown. Poor.
Secondly, Browen stuck with his established rotation to a fault, but it was not working. Ilyasova had a rare bad game and Noel was weak but they played too much in this game. I really think he needed the muscle, Okafor or Holmes when Embiid was out. At least use your fouls on Nene or the Brazilian kid.
I think Covington or Henderson were the only only ones who should have tried to defend Harden. Those other guys had no chance.
Fun game, but poor coaching job

Lol, I'm not saying BB did a great job this game, but you do realize if Okafor was in he would have been put in the PnR everytime, right? And we all know the result of that... let alone against the probably best PnR player in the NBA right now (Harden).

"The muscle of Okafor."
k.
(I hope you realize, they got those dunks because the Sixers put pressure on their two good big-man defenders to try and be amazing enough to show on Harden and recover without bringing a third player -- there is zero chance Okafor can do that in any capacity, and neither can Holmes probably. I actually really liked this strategy, Harden just made more 3s than usual, and the bigs weren't quite special enough on this night in recovering. The Sixers picked their poison, and Harden was just that damn good on the night because, again, those bigs get dunks only because of Harden.)

I realize Brown had a "Harden" strategy to start the game. I also realize it was a disaster, worse than any other strategy he could have employed as it turns out, and he should have got out much sooner. It's not like like they were giving up corner threes to a shooter who just got hot, it was 9 almost consectutive dunks.Houston's big men have little scoring ability and you gave them 39 points. If you gave them 20 points Harden might have to go for 60+ to beat them.
Brown's rotation has been the best they have had in three years and is admirable. In one game , where it is not working, think differently. I've seen Popovich go deep into his roster to play someone who just fits what he needs at a given time. They are taking time from a better player, to win one game.
Brown is going to have to deal with a huge Simmons upheavel soon. He is a major talent. But what he knows from earlier play is having the ball, resting on defense, and forcing the action, sometimes with turnovers. These are all mistakes that can be corrected with experience. But none of this fits Brown's current winning formula, and could be a huge problem unless he adapts.

Re: Official Brett Brown thread
I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of BB and said he wasn't a good coach. I have to apologize to BB for that, he has proven me wrong. I respect the man now and appreciate what he has done for us so far.
He has never backed down or bail on questions about players health, trades and anything GM related. Alot of coaches seem to deflect those to the GMs, BB takes it and answers it like a man. Having said that, I feel sorry for him from having to gone thru the Hinkie regime and now this clown BC.
Looking forward to what he can do with all these guys back next year healthy, hopefully it will be a fun year making the playoffs.

I have always supported him as a coach, but what is REALLY clear is that he is a great person. You just have to respect the man, even if you DON'T like him as a coach.
Not because of what he has been through, but because of how he handles himself. He pulls no punches, and has earned the respect of the players and people around him.
