He just needs a little help. The issue is not Embiid not by a mile. We need a much better player at the 2/3 and that will make everything so much easier for Embiid. Covington faded after his fast start and JJ is great but he can't take it to the hole on his own or really carry the offense for stretches to allow Embiid to save some energy on the court (on the offensive end of the court). Embiid is a top 10 player right now.

Our team is not even close to a finished product we need to see what happens this offseason. You bring in a Kawhi, George, or Lebron and everything changes and Embiid is probably a top 3 player in the league with Kawhi or Lebron out there.

My only fear is more BC screwing up another offseason for us.

I think "great" is a little extreme, but semantics I guess. Horford is a good defender, not a great defender. Embiid gets his shot blocked because he leans away losing leverage instead of leaning into him, creating leverage. I think Embiid is afraid of getting called for offensive fouls against smaller players so he doesn't want to put his weight into them.

Simmons has a little lower center of gravity and is in better condition than Embiid. His legs and core are stronger as well most likely.
Embiid probably has way more upper body strength than Simmons, but that isnt getting you post position.

Overall, Im please from what I saw from Biid. He was able to keep up with teams when they play fast and also defend at the perimeter unlike Gobert.

My issues are more with his lack of PnR offense (which may not be his fault) and inconsistent jumper (he’s still one of our better shooter in the playoffs).

He needs to establish better position in the low post and he needs to hold it. For such a big guy, he gets knocked around a lot and for as good as hands he has, he's weak when it comes on to holding the ball. If he gets lower body strength he'll be able to hold and establish better post position. Better core strength will help him immensely too.

This will be the first summer for Embiid to work on his skill set while having NBA experience, I'm hyped.
