Poor Okafor. The guy is just playing in the wrong era. I was a big fan too.

I've always believed that trade is underrated as one of the worst post-Process moves the franchise made. A rock solid plug and play guy at a position of incredible value that is nearly impossible to get, for what? A project 'athlete' and a draft pick that might, just might, be reeeeeeeally valuable if a rule changes. The move sucked then, and it sucks even more now.

I think from an internal perspective that was the worst move this franchise made. The idea was to build a great team organically (homegrown) and THEN add a big name free agent to the mix. We whiffed bad on the Bridges trade. Just a colossal fail on the part of this organization. Can you imagine? Jayson Tatum and Mikal Bridges on this roster together? What an opportunity that was that we missed out on.

The Clippers will implode so hard if they get Kyrie. They definitely do not have the right culture or leadership for him.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

No team has the "right culture" for Kyrie Irving - he has interest or intent to be part of a team

That generation of stars is so whack. They all gave up on their franchises and tried to play together and still can't win titles. Hopefully the current generation of stars learned from those their mistakes and abandon the player movement garbage and just stay in their organizations and truly be franchise players.

The only reason the LeBron Heat thing worked is because Wade was a homegrown franchise player that won a title before the followers joined up. The only reason the Durant Warriors thing worked is because Steph was a homegrown franchise player that won a title on his own before Durant joined.

So unless these weak stars link up with Giannis in Milwaukee, they ain't winning anything.

The Clippers/Nets/Lakers being utter failures of experiments needed to happen for the good of NBA future. It was a much needed pendulum swing.

Luka must've been pretty adamant about wanting help.

Risky as hell for the Mavs but not a terrible price point.

This deal could work but Cuban is a bad owner. The Mavs have an incomprehensible team building strategy that constantly puts them in awkward positions.

Kyrie being a good off ball player makes this trade good for the Mavs i think, if Kyrie doesn't make drama which is unlikely.

They need defense tho, that team has no interior presence at all.

On the Nets side, we get to see Ben playing PG again lol

True, but makes sense for Mavs to take the risk. They're desperate to find a complementary star for Luka before he asks out.

They had no choice really, other than to gamble that another player of that level would become available. An early exit this year and this would have been a dicey off season for them.

Like it for DAL too. Risk worth taking.

Lakers should have ponied up. Now they're left holding the bag with no obvious alternative.

Not feeling too bad for BKN. Frankly, they should be ecstatic the flake is gone. They did about as well as could be expected given the situation.
