Yup. I’ve sent my apology letter about Amen months ago.

Amen..

As I've been saying, he's an MVP contender when healthy.

DeMarcus Cousins at his peak was the closest thing I’ve seen to Shaq. He was far more skilled and an incredible sight to watch.

Good thing we drafted Evan Turner!

Hot Take: I'm kind of interested in how this franchise would have faired with Evan Turner and Michael Carter-Williams as building blocks.

Obviously Hinkie had no interest in that. And neither player amounted to anything once they left. But if we just kept them in place and established chemistry and continuity and tried to build around them, it would have been interesting.

Our perimeter defense would have been lockdown. Both players stuffed the statsheet with rebounds, assist, points. If you just surrounded them with a block and dunk C and a bunch of catch and shoot three guys, we could have been a fun, feisty team to watch.

Sixers are 2nd in attendance at home. This needs to decrease significantly before the seasons end. There need to be more empty seats and less support for this team.

Side note: I loved that Jrue-Turner-Hawes team with Doug Collins as coach. He got the most out of them, and they played above their talent level. We even had that go-to set where Turner would curl off screens around the FT line—always our crunch-time play.

Turner and MCW made me fully commit to disliking guard prospects who can’t shoot.

With the way Morey has been drafting scoring combo guards, I can’t help but imagine how much better we could have been if we had taken CJ McCollum in 2013 and Devin Booker in 2014.

“Keep shooting that midrange. See where that gets you” is insane. He's also not really wrong... nearly 50% of Paolo’s shot attempts are from the middy and he’s shooting sub 40% on them- which isn't good.

The Magic have been better with Paolo OFF every year of his career, the sample is too large to write off / ignore.

I watched a bit of the game last night and was pretty surprised at the turnout and the enthusiasm late in the game. The funniest thing is Kate and Alaa constantly making reference to the play-in as if the fan base is hanging on that 'race'.

What pisses me off is we spent five f***king years watching his mediocre garbage here as a max player, and no sooner are we off that abortion of a contract than Morey not only ropes us right back in, but doubles it up with an aging loser and a cripple.

He'll still never win anything (other than that belt), but Tobias is in the perfect spot right now for a team that desperately needed a veteran who's been around, works hard, and is always available. And at half the price he was paid here.

I never really got the Tobias hate. The contract, sure. And that he wasn't a willing enough 3 point shooter to be a great fit. But he was always a good locker room guy, played almost every night, and gave effort.

Guys not living up to contracts frequently causes friction with the fan base, but that should be an issue with the one's that give them the contract.

PG brings some of it on himself with his nonchalant demeanor. He's clearly not a "get you through the bad times" player. And Nurse clearly can't handle the bad times either. If only we had Tobias and Doc to hold this thing together!

That last comment literally made me wince. I guess we really have hit rock bottom.

I never hated Tobias, I just hated that he was here. It was always much less about the contract than the fact that he was just never a guy you would want playing 30-35 minutes a night on a championship contender. The fact that they let a true difference maker walk out the door, then handed difference maker money to a classic JAG and f***ked up team building possibilities in the process - that was the problem.

They couldn't trade him because the league knew the contract was a joke, and you had to play him because the contract made it impossible to simply replace him. His limitations as an impact player, which his contract dictated he had to be, were what created the enmity from the fan base. Being a good locker room guy and giving effort is great, but when you're expected to be the '3rd guy' and disappear in every big spot, those attributes start to ring hollow.

He's in his wheelhouse now, with an up and coming very young team where his veteran presence and the example he sets are more important than his production. He'll be gone before they become a true contender.

Tobias praise and longing for the days of MCW and Turner. This thread is an insane asylum.

In other news the Knicks are getting bullied by the best of the East, Cleveland the other night and Boston as I type this.

I’m genuinely happy for Tobias - he found the perfect fit for himself in Detroit. He’s a stable, consistent player & personality that can help a team weather the long regular season to make it to the playoffs. Detroit is a team that’s just happy to be in the mix & he’s a good vet for that group.

Put him on a contender? Disaster. But put him on a 6-8 seed? Perfect fit.

What scoring option is Tobias in Detroit? 4th 5th?
I wonder if his pops still consider him a scoring assassin?

This year has broken a lot of people.

As long as Embiid is here, tanking is more interesting.

I'll admit my brain is starting to crack. Box score watching Harden this season makes me long for the days he was a Sixer. At least our fake contender squad was entertaining to watch with the Beard.

The Harden era was the only time I really felt we could compete for a title, and still think we may have if Glenn had been fired before Harden's full year here, as he should have been.

I would have felt that way had we kept Butler and dumped Simmons, Tobias, and Brown.
