Utah lets PG play 30 games/year and live closer to LA. They draft Ace Bailey and continue to tank next year.

Sixers move back to get a higher floor player and their PF to pair with Embiid. I think Markenen would be a great fit for the team.

I feel like Utah probably passes on that, unless they really loves someone at 3. I’d rather keep Lauri and 5 if I’m them given PG’s age & injury history. I do think there is real potential with a Lauri for PG/#3. Utah likely needs to add something else but I’m not sure what that ends up being.

I'm squinting pretty hard trying to picture Markkenen in a playoff game.

You know Ainge absolutely loves the idea of trading two spots with the sixers to draft the next star wing

Yeah, we’d really be tempting fate with a trade like that.

I think the trade value difference between Lauri and PG right now is waaaay more than the gap between 3 and 5.

Meh. Both PG and Lauri are currently underwater. Lauri is owed more total money and more years.

I mean, I'd add a 27 pick swap. I would also strongly suspect that UTA could turn around and sell PG for a profit next summer. Easy example being the Thunder and Horford.

Jalen Smith didn't get much playing time in Chicago last season. He has some impressive career metrics, is only 25, and costs $9.2 mil.

.601 TS%, .407 3PA rate, 18.0 TRB%, 0.8 STL%, and 3.7 BLK%

I'd offer Oubre/Gordon/two 2nds for him and see if they bite. Start him next to Embiid, then use him as a backup 5 as well (save Bona for the Embiid rest nights).

In addition to that, draft Ace and use the TMLE on another PF.

Maxey/McCain/Butler
Grimes/Edwards/(empty)
George/Bailey/Council
Smith/(TMLE)/(#35)
Embiid/Bona/Drummond

9-man rotation:

Maxey(32)/McCain(16)
Grimes(30)/Edwards(10)/McCain(8)
George(18)/Bailey(24)/Edwards(6)
Smith(12)/TMLE(24)/George(12)
Embiid(30)/Smith(18)
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

Jalen Smith would be a nice pickup.

LAL gets Kessler, George, and Gordon
PHI gets Kleber, Markkanen, and 5
UTA gets Knecht, Hachimura, Finney-Smith, Vincent, Drummond, 3, and protection removed from 27 owed LAL 1st

I think we’d need to get Reeves instead of Kleber

The Kleber for Drummond part is simply to save Utah 5M next year. Sixers would still be taking back less than they are sending out.

But yeah, Lakers may need to add another pick to Utah, but they certainly aren't giving the Sixers Reaves.

What would the Sixers do with Reaves anyway?

Wouldn’t hate it

Draft Tre/VJ/Kon with 5

Maxey Grimes Oubre Markkanen Embiid
McCain VJ/Tre/Kon Edwards Yabu Bona

As was said, that deal is a non-starter without Reaves instead of Kleber although that would never happen.

I hate the idea of helping the Lakers in any way.

Thoughts on other places to send George who might actually pay assets?

Goal is to do George/3 for Lauri/5 without giving the Jazz PG.

Warriors with Kuminga going out via S&T? I guess that doesn't work since that would need to be after the draft.

Bucks if they keep Giannis?

Dallas?

What about Miami?

MIA gets PG
PHI get Lauri and 5
UTA gets Wiggins, Rozier, and 3

That's not paying assets, but those two contracts are certainly less onerous than PG.

Trade him elsewhere for picks / another player

We value Lauri more than moving up from 5 to 3, needs to be some real assets coming back.

Could Philly go for Giannis? You have the assets ...
