Not even a "Big Move". Even a small move that wouldn't hurt the cap, but make this team attractable for free agents.

It takes 2 things 1)Money, 2) Good situation. For proof of this. Just take a look at the Magic.(Yes, they overpaid Rashard.) Anyone would want to go play with Dwight Howard.

No one wants to play with Andre "I'm better then I am" Iguodala, people would LOVE to play with Miller, but otherwise that's it. We need a 3rd attractive piece. Doesn't even have to be big.

Just for the sake of converstion, Stephen A. Smith did say that Cleveland is still after Andre Miller but he doesn't believe anything will get done.

unless they bring in another team it's pretty improbable. they simply have no assets. imagine if they kept boozer
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

I still say if they gave us Gibson, Ira Newble (expiring) and Gooden or Sideshow Bob. I'd make that deal.

Of course they would never do that, but that would be my price if I'm Ed.

You're going to have to assume Chief Wiggum's salary to get that done. Pass.

Not that we have a chance of getting before tomorrow's deadline since Harris is out another two weeks.... but my boy, Marcus Williams, had a strong game in the first Nets game since the Kidd trade.

39 minutes, 25 points, 4 assists, 4 boards, 2 steals

Also, I find it interesting that Shaq and Kidd (two questionable trades to begin with) both lost in their first game with their new teams and now both are saying that they have to get used to their teammates.

On the otherside of things, Pau Gasol joined the Lakers and put up 27 points in his first game and the Lakers won (I believe they are 7-1 with him). While the Suns and Mavs have stolen the headlines for the past 2-3 weeks, I don't think either is going to win the West and in fact, I don't think either is in the Top 4 teams in the West right now.

1. Lakers
2. Hornets
3. Spurs
4. Jazz

I think that both the Suns and Mavs are now worse than those 4 teams.

I'll say 5% and fading.... Stefanksi is smart and he knows what pieces to build around. No need to deal Miller for what's out there at this point (ie. Drew Gooden).

Stefanski's been honest all along about using the Utah pick as a chip..... It was also nice to hear SixerFan1976 report that Eddie isn't tethered to Jason Smith either. I'd ship Smith out on a silver platter for a young, more physical 4 if available. I'd also use Carney as a piece mixed with Smith and/or the Utah pick. However, the options appear limited:

Wilcox is probably off the market with Kurt Thomas gone. I would take a long look at Villanueva right now... I know he's as soft and as perimeter-oriented.... But he has some decent post moves. MIL boards expressed interest in Carney & Utah pick for CV.

You know about my gush for Craig Smith. People think I overrate him, but just watch.... He'll be better than Jason Smith for our
needs.... And I suspect you could get him cheap, mainly with the Utah pick.

I also wonder if a Smith/ Utah pick package could pry Udonis Haslem now that they're shifting to a more up-tempo game in Miami.

Brandon Bass and my boy Millsap are both untouchable, otherwise I'd deal Smith + pick + Carney for them. Andray Blatche is surely staying in Washington....

Any word on whether Carney is being used as trade bait, SixerFan?

Well, to be fair to Shaq and Kidd, their teams had to give up major pieces to get them, while the biggest piece the Lakers lost was Kwame Brown. Plus, playing against the Lakers and Hornets didn't help.

Shaq looked better than I thought he would though, and that Amare-Shaq combo down low is going to be a load to deal with the rest of the season.

IMMINENT NOH-HOU TRADE ALERT!

Man, this is the craziest trade season I've ever witnessed. It's truly like Fantasy Basketball in the NBA these days. Now, Bonzi Wells is on the Hornets - - What an arms race in the West. RotoWorld is reporting this:

" The Rockets on Wednesday agreed to send guards Bonzi Wells and Mike James to the Hornets for guard Bobby Jackson.
The deal is still pending league approval and it sounds like the Rockets will also get Adam Haluska from the Hornets and a conditional second-round pick, while the Memphis Grizzlies will receive the rights to Marcus Vinicius to make the deal work financially. The big news here is that Bonzi appears to be an obvious choice to replace struggling shooting guard Morris Peterson in New Orleans. It's not guaranteed to happen... " Feb. 21 - 12:55 am et

InsideHoops reporting that Kyle Lowry will not be traded according to his agent. I don't know how much you can look into that because Memphis has Conely and Crittenton as well. Memphis will have to get rid of one of them eventually.

^If none of the PG's go, they'll trade one of them in order to move up in the draft to add depth in the front court.

The PHX deal at least makes a bit of sense. They had no chance with their team assembled as it was, so may as well take your chances on a gamble that may pay out. But Dallas.....WTF. :nonono: I have no idea what they were thinking, and tonight's game didn't put much into perspective. I'll give him time, but I don't think he fits in well with their style of play.
