It can be spun as a positive, for sure, but you're right. It would be a huge letdown.

I understand what you are saying, about being a letdown but with Embiid's injuries things have really changed. It looks at 3 there will be Exum, Vonleh, and Embiid. Who would you take?

I can spin the Sixers' decision to take Vonleh, but I cannot justify choosing him myself. I'd take Exum in that scenario. With Smart next in line.

Yeah, I would agree with Exum in that scenario

This.

While not as intriguing as WIggins/Parker/Embiid.....at least I can potentially see Exum/Smart becoming a star or high level player in the league.

Vonleh has great measurables and a nice skill set, but I'm not so sure I can envision him becoming a guy who's headlining your franchise or being talked up on national TV before tip off of a Sixers game.

Smoke screen. Hinkie isn't telling anyone anything. Ford knows nothing about the Sixers

Conductive reasoning based on reports and chatter. Ford hasn't been given anything from our front office.

No way should the Sixers take Vonleh at No. 3. Just bad value at that spot.

Better off trading down with someone in the Top 7 and trying to acquire a future 1st rounder or give up Thad and try to get the No. 1 overall pick than stay put to draft Vonleh 3rd overall.

If the Sixers stand pat at No. 3, then it has to be Embiid or Exum, IMO. That's appropriate value for No. 3.

Unless Hinkie is speaking on TV, I have no interest in what these so called insiders say. They know as much as we do.

At least if we draft Exum we'll be getting calls to trade for him.

Vonleh is pretty much the only guy I haven't be able to talk myself into at 3.

Dude is just a bland prospect to me. He probably will be good but at 3...we need something splashier and someone who has a chance to be great.

I imagine the feeling of us taking Vonleh at 3 would be very similar to what that Portugal goal at 94:40 felt like.

Exactly. A historically epic tank job and we end up with Noah Vonleh at #3 overall? If that happens I'm done with this team. So glad we have Hinkie who would never do something that ridiculous.

Would you come crying back pretending like you're a Noah jocker all along if he became Bosh 2.0 and helped lead us to the OKC East model in 2 years?

Not that I'm a Vonleh supporter, but it's so stupid to make claims like this when players haven't even played a game in the NBA yet.

Reminds me of when Wolves fans revolted when they traded Mayo for Love.

Vonleh will NEVER be a star. Go ahead and sig it when you climb down off the fence. I'm not answering hypotheticals - I said what I said.

Embiid... if his injuries are deemed too much of a risk, then Noah Vonleh.

Noah Vonleh is a 6'10 Jamal Mashburn and will be just as good as the other guys being picked in the top 5 of this draft. The only 2 players I fear being better than Vonleh from this draft are Embiid and Wiggins. The rest of them... nope.

If they take Vonleh and then figure out a way to go up and get Marcus Smart at #7, I'll be ecstatic.
Fischella wrote:I think none of you guys that are pro-Embiid no how basketball works today.. is way easier to win it all with Omer Asik than Olajuwon.
Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down
