Dei is only there to report. She has no inside info besides what the team tells her. As far as I know, she has never been a beat writer.

I'm intrigued by Nicolas Batum IF we are planning to get rid of Iguodala/Turner. Any possible interest in him? He's a RFA, and I'm expecting his salary is going to be at least around 7-8 million a year. But he's 23, 14 points a game splitting time starting and coming off the bench, while shooting 39% for 3.

One problem is he doesn't really get to the line much and I wouldn't consider him a dynamic scorer in the mold of Eric Gordon. If we were to make other moves that addressed these problems, I'd definitely consider him as a replacement for Iggy/Turner.

Batum is going to cost a lot more than 7-8 mil. And if he doesn't, he will be back in Portland. No way they don't match an offer that low. As with any good RFA, you need to overpay to get them...any reasonable offer will be matched.

I don't doubt that Eric Gordon will put up better efficient numbers in the future because of his great work ethic, but I also don't doubt he'll miss a lot of games, even seasons because of his knee(s).

So is it worth it to overpay for an injury prone 6'3 scorer who relies heavily on his athleticism?

I don't think so.

Love Batum as well, but I din't see them gambling on him as an RFA. He's a guy I would love to see here, but can't imagine he leaves Portland.

can't waste cap space on a non bigman role player. Especially a RFA which would have to be overcompensated. Love Batum's game but once you've locked up your cap space, it is a while before you get the opportunity to easily remake your team again. Including this year, we've had max cap space twice in almost 15 years iirc. Gotta get it right or sit on the cash.

Absolutely Sixersftw absolutely. Don't spend the money if you don't have too. Go young and build if you can't get the FA's it is just that simple. Yeah I want this team to win but over the long haul.
How long has this team been in the lower level of the NBA? To frigging long, why because of bad trades, bad drafts and overspending for marginal talent. Enough is enough. This team has a golden opportunity (major cap space) use it wisely. If we trade Iggy trade him for assets that we can use going forward.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Depending on how things shake up, CJ Miles is a UFA whom I'd welcome in a 6er uniform next year. Good shooter, good size, solid player. Great off the ball.

When was he told to gain weight? He came into the summer league fat and out of shape as a rookie. From that point forward all I have heard is they want him to get in better shape.

So we all learn today that Evan Turner has not worked out since his final days at Ohio State.

Most rookies need to add strength to adequately defend in th NBA. I'm not so sure it's muscle they want him to lose.

we have talked to utah about jefferson and earl watson in an iguodala deal. nothing close...just conversation....will have plenty more talks with utah and other teams as we get towards end of month. Not sure if there were other parts to that deal..but we kinda like Watson as a backup to Jrue apparently.

Thanks Sixerfan. Too bad that Jefferson is probably the 4th big man that I would like to have from that team after Kanter, Favors, and Milsap, but it's not as though Jefferson is without talent. If Collins can make Hawes look passable from time to time, I'm guessing he could do a lot more with Jefferson.

I can buy that.. They are set in frontcourt with Favors, Milsap and Kanter, and they played Tinsley more as a backup pg at the end of the season..
BUT, I think we can get slightly better deal for Iggy.. Also, I am terrified of Jefferson's injuries history, and I don't see 'Andre Miller - mentor' in Watson..

Trading Iggy for Jefferson, i dont buy it. What is Sixerfans source because a deal involving Iggy for Jefferson wouldnt make sense. We could amnesty Elton and take on Jefferson for free and Utah would love it.

if you trade iguodala for a big man...you then amnesty brand to add a scoring guard........or SF.......depending on where you play turner.

they know they have two glaring holes to fill......and will explore multiple options to address them.
