Yeah, I mean there's a little bit of everything in play right now negatively affecting Embiid.

- the coach is running a bad system
- the coach is deploying clunky lineups around him
- he's unhappy with summer personnel decisions
- he's unhappy with a moment of vulnerability going viral
- his physical condition has deteriorated and he's frustrated by that

We can't fix all of those things, but we can mitigate some of those issues.

It's funny did anyone else catch where the announcers said that Joel and Marc Gasol both entered the game at the same time and Joel refused to make eye contact with Marc. LOL. Joel will be fine but this will be another humbling experience in Canada and he needs to be humbled. But your right Bret needs to figure out a way to get him an easy looks in that situation.

So what joel doesnt make eye contact with his own teammates.

It's true then. KAT stole his soul. :( That's what his mother was shouting at him as he got ejected.

He plays like he fell out of love with the game or without the fire and exuberance that we are used to from him. Include that with the fact that he is either not quite in shape or not revealing some pain hes in out of fear they will sit him .

Another weird take is that the guy is trying to portray himself as more mature and has toned down his personality on the court.

I dont know whats going on with embiid but hes definitley not himself. His teammates havent help and neither has the coach.

He's more vulnerable to strips than any big in the league and when he tries to step around defenders he plows his way right into offensive fouls. He's been terribly sluggish and at times just plain lazy.

Everyone wants to blame Brett for not putting Embiid in position to score, but I honestly believe Joel is in his own head and is trying to avoid the turnovers connected to his touches down low.

Very sluggish since the start of the playoffs last season, and it hasn't changed. He's good for a driven game about once every other week.

End of last season should have been the time to get Jay Wright on the phone; however he would have a tough job getting Simmons to fit into his offense, too.

The cynical view is that he got his money and now he's enjoying the rest of his life with it. A basketball game every other night may just be a hindrance to his preferred lifestyle. Oh, you mean I have to go to work tonight?

Trying to avoid eye contact is an example of him trying to visualize Marc as just another adversary.

I hope this isnt true because then it makes the fans from opposing teams right when they call him a coward and a fraud.

I mean, didn't we always know that Joel is a bully? Bullies usually prey on the weak because they have their own issues.

The next games will tell a lot about him. Is he going to come more determined or more timid or nonchalant?

In the end it is only a November game, and even if Gasol is his achilles heel its not the end of the world since I dont think the Raptors are such a big threat in the postseason.

I would be only worried if it's a more systemic issue.

Why?

Because you don't think it's important or you just don't think it's appropriate?

As someone who has had mental issues, I don't feel like many know enough to talk about it. Also feels like a reach really.

Coming in peace.

I'm a big Embiid fan, too. I just want to shake him. He needs to hire a life coach - he could literally carry teams to championships if he got his head going right.

Also, the media loves Brett Brown, so he's getting too much of a pass. He really needs to go... But keep him around until if and when we are ready to rebuild ourselves. That will help us. But he really needs to be Babcocked.

I find him too immature and a little mean-spirited at times, but I like him fine enough.

You don't think some of his behavior and antics towards others can be described as being a bully?

It's not like anyone is calling him weak or sawft.

I don't see the problem in acknowledging that he's in a funk right now and speculating on some of the things that could be occurring. Nobody is speculating on any personal stuff outside of basketball with him or anything.

Who cares. The NBA has enough robots, yes men and best friends. The NBA has lost fierce competition and the game is going down the drain. Embiid and a select few others make it fun to watch.

We already had that discussion. I think his performance was sickening. Obviously have taken care of his body or something is going on with his knee. Whatever it is he needs to snap out of it. Along with Ben his numbers are also down in every statistical category. He said he wanted to be MVP and DPOY. I thought he was going to average 30/13/2.5. As much as we want to hold Ben accountable we need to hold Jo responsible for this slide too.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if NBA fans love basketball or psychoanalysis.
