I’m still surprised it seems a lot of our fan base is shocked with this report. This has been evident for many weeks now. The dude wasn’t playing another game for us. People really thought he had the mental fortitude to play in front of home crowd that is booing him? You don’t really know Ben then.

Usually when things get ugly publicly like this a trade happens pretty fast. I expect it’ll be done in 1-2 weeks. Once again I think we’ll get a package with 1-2 decent players, Beasley level, and picks. With full intention to use assets & Maxey down the line to acquire a star.

Yep, Simmons always was fool's gold, that's why we should've traded him much earlier when we saw how he has never improved and even has regressed on offense. And no, this is not a "in hindsight" thing, it was pretty obvious as I said how he was always the same player, never adding anything new to his game on offense.

Nowadays it’s really a lot more volatile. The league wants equal opportunities for every team. And the only way is thru volatility. And teams like the Pelicans knew this thats why they’re saving up for picks. Once an opportunity opens up, they can trade all their assets and instantly shift from a nobody to a contender. Once it fails, then they just rebuild from scratch.

Winning a championship is more like taking turns now. Similar set-up in roster and asset management cycle.

I have different expectations as a fan. I thought this last season was pretty enjoyable: it didn’t end like we’d like, but so what. Give me a team that consistently ends up in the top four of their conference, and has a puncher’s chance in the playoffs. I’d prefer that over drastic all-in moves.

Can't imagine that Morey cares either way at this point

Has there ever been a star to demand a trade from the #1 team in the conference before?

This just all makes Ben look so soft. I can’t believe he doesn’t have a self awareness to realize he’s not the victim. He just takes zero accountability for anything.

This whole drama with Ben is nothing but bitchazzness. When your heart is fearful and petty it’s the others fault. Granted there may be some stuff with the organization that we don’t know about that is pissing him off. But somehow Jo doesn’t seem pissed. So it can’t be all bad. Again it’s bitchazzness at work here.

This is only noise.

The two guys never were close but they are not enemies.
We all knew this was the last year to win big with the duo Ben-Joel....but we failed.
It was the last year because of the Joel's extension coming in.

Unfortunately, not only the Sixers failed as a team but Simmons failed big by himself...so it became hard to get fair value in a trading him.

Problem is that Lillard, basically the only sixers target for their current situation, is not on the market right now.
So it has to be a 2 steps trade: acquire as many assets as possible for Ben; to use them later.
This is a risk of course, but I think it will be the way to proceed.

However, I'm sure Rich Paul won't permit that his golden boy is traded for a bunch of pennies: optics matters.

Couldn't handle prime time. Using the organization that drafted you #1 overall and signed you to a max contract as a scapegoat is just a terrible look.

Can you imagine Barkley or Iverson having to put up with him?

Then he should be helping Morey to get a good haul instead of leaking petty BS.

I can only imagine how disgusted those two are with Ben right now. He's not worthy of wearing a Sixers uniform at this point.

Can you imagine the Meeting with Doc, Morey , Ben and Rich Paul.

Ben: But Doc and Embiid said bad things about me after the loss.
Doc: Ben things are said in the heat of the moment and I have apologized to you personally several times.
Ben: Ok, but Embiid said bad things about me too.
Morey: Just like Doc things are said in the heat of the Moment.
Doc(under his breath): But you can't even shoot free throws you are afraid.
Ben: I don't like bad things being said about me. I am an all star, ROY, a defensive stud.
Morey: Yes you are Ben ! So here we are Ben Rich ?
Rich: We want a trade and we are not coming to training camp.
Ben: We do ?
Rich: Yes we do !
Ben: Yes....yes, yes we do because you said bad things about me !
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Now I'm all sorts of confused. Doesn't really make a difference. The damage has been done, fans will not welcome Ben back, and for that reason alone he needs to be traded. There is no way that Ben will be able to withstand Philly boos. And Bodner also confirmed the veracity of Pompey's claims by stating that he had sources that said similar thinks about Ben's unwillingness to report to camp.
