If we draft Tre, I’ll absolutely root for him and hope that I’m wrong. I totally get the appeal of his shooting ability, but I just can’t get over my reservations about the rest of his game. I’m not convinced that Morey would be enamored with him as a prospect either because his non-shooting metrics are either bad or mediocre.

Just another red flag for Ace.

I'm this way too. I was anti-Ben in 2016, wanted Ingram. Was heavily anti Springer or Zhaire. Very underwhelmed by Thybulle.

But at the end of the day once they put on the jersey I'll root for them as hard as anyone.

It's a lot of banter mixed in with discussion. How boring would it be around here if it were an echo-chamber of opinions.

Running around like a 6'8" JJ Redick!

Insane shot-making potential that defenses must account for at all times. He's gonna open up driving lanes like crazy for Maxey.

my thing with Ace is that I DO see the IDEA of him. I personally don't see it on tape all the time and then the nerd vorpo slorpo stuff also hates him so its a tougher sell than guys whose tape I do like and have the nerds behind them too.

But a long scoring wing is the holy grail so I get it even I I have other probably just as irrational views of prospects in this same range. The issue comes when his fans start to attempt to warp reality in favor of him with some of the worse goal post moving and logic leaps I have ever seen lol...so the hater in me only digs in further.

However, I am ready to become an irrational homer for any of the guys we have been linked to at the moment. We take Ace and the first tough middy he hits in summer league and I'll be right along with his fans going " oh yeah **** easy shots that is for bitch ass losers #MambaMentality"

....that being said.... I really need the Spurs to let us have Harper tho

Every potentially exciting attribute in the category of Ace just feels like sensationalism when you dig a little deeper.

If you put more stock into these absurdly volatile shots with extreme amounts of variance (on low sample), over him shooting 69% from the foul stripe on over 100 attempts, then you've been hoodwinked.

Everything points to Ace's jumper not translating to the pro-game.

Bailey shot 90% from the FT line in HS apparently, so not sure how much stock one can put into one season at the line.

But who are those top long scoring wings these days?

Jalen Williams
Jaylen Brown
Jayson Tatum
Kevin Durant

Those guys all drew fouls and/or generated assists as a better rate than Ace. Yes, I already know the response: look at his team! Boring argument.

EVERYTHING? Including the times when he makes insane shots with the clock running out and highly contended?

Wow. Your ADS is on full display. Might want to seek some professional help for that…

Well that 90% was in one season under a far less stressful situation than in the Big 10 and other DI schools, no?

Bailey to me is a face up PF and we definitely could use his weakside shotblocking, rebounding , switch ability, dunks, and tough shots. Especially on this team with plenty of ballhandlers.
