I can't wrap my head around Charlotte's interest in Hood or McDermott at 9. They have made mistakes in the past by taking unathletic, defensively challenged busts and now they want another? Makes no sense. Of course, I am thrilled that they are the team picking ahead of us

I dont understand it either. I can kinda make a small case for McBuckets, but Hood?

Here is my latest mock:

1) CLE : Wiggins
2) MIL : Parker
3) PHI : Exum
4) ORL : Smart
5) Utah : Vonleh
6) Boston : McBuckets
7) LAL : Embiid (Traded to PHI for MCW)
8) SAC : Payton
9) CHA : Hood
10) PHI : Stauskas
11) DEN : LaVine
12) ORL : Randle
13) MIN : Gordon
14) PHX : Nurkic
15) ATL : Harris
16) CHI : TJ Warren (traded to PHI with Boozer and 19 for 32, 47, and 52)
17) BOS : Saric (traded to PHI for 19 and 39)

PHI ends the night with Exum at 3, Embiid at 7, Stauskas at 10, Warren at 16 and Saric at 17.

Given your order, I'd take Gordon at #10, KJ McDaniels at 16 and Saric at 17. Try to get Jordan Adams at the back of the first round. Muiday next year.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

Adrian Wojnarowski's update from earlier:

Said the Cavs top option was to trade their pick for Kevin Love. Kevin Love said he won't sign an extensio, so that killed it.

Still torn on Wiggins/Parker. Exum probably won't take that flight to workout for the Cavs. He doesn't think the interest is serious enough. The only way they'd be interested in would be a trade down. Woj mentioned the #4 pick as a possibility. Didn't mention Sixers.

LOL at Dante Exum turning down the Cavs. I love it. He wants to be here and I think we want him here too.

The Cavs will end up taking Wiggins since Parker and Exum both want nothing to do with Cleveland.

i don't think it has anything to do with wanting to be in Philadelphia

It's just kind of suspicious and inconvenient that 24 hours before the Draft, the Cavs all of a sudden want to workout him out and fly him across the country and are claiming he's considered for the #1 pick.

Exum's agent know's BS when he sees it

If the Sixers trade up, I don't think we'll hear anything until either right before the draft starts or right after the Cavs pick.

If it were to happen, we'll probably hear about the Magic and Cavs all day, then you hear "With the #1 pick the Cavs select Andrew Wiggins"

then tweet from Woj "The Cavaliers will be trading the rights to the #1 pick Wiggins to Sixers for _____"

I think it will be an assassin strike.

Andy Katz ‏@ESPNAndyKatz 34s

Utah, Orland and Boston have talked to Cleveland about No. 1 and if so the choice would be Jabari Parker.

Andy Katz ‏@ESPNAndyKatz 34s

If the Cavs take Jabari Parker, I could see a trade happening. If Cavs take Andrew Wiggins, then likely keeping the pick.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider 59s

Sources: If Bucks, Magic, Jazz or Celtics move up to No. 1 — Jabari is their man. If Sixers move up it’s for Wiggins.

i really hope the Sixers somehow snag Parker or Wiggins. Too many question marks with the other prospects.

???? The Kings?? did they say if they saw Embiids medical records? Because I thought his agent wasn't going to share with any team below 7

Yeah, think of us who gave him our heart last summer. We broke those walls down, we opened up FOR WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN.

I'm hoping for Wiggins and then either randle or gordon at 10. I think there will b good choices in round 2 also, I would like to see pj hairston and jarnell stokes for 2 of those picks.

If James Young falls to the 20s, I could see Hinkie trying to trade up to get him.

I know I've crapped on the kid, but you must also remember that he's 18 years old. You also need to remember that he's 6'7 and has a 7' wingspan as a SG/SF and he has the form to stroke the three. Since we aren't winning next year, it would be silly not to take a chance on him at that point in the draft. He needs a lot of work, but he has basic ability to be relevant in the league.

My final prediction of what happens in the first round tonight:

You'll hate my vagueness, but #3 will depend on what happens at 1 and 2. I believe Hinkie has decided to either take Wiggins if Parker or Embiid is taken #1 overall (I think the Buck want Exum over Wiggins), or Exum if Wiggins is gone. Not a bad position to be in. Gun to my head: Exum is our SG by the end of the night.

At 10: This is even harder to predict because 1-9 is so fluid right now. I'm not putting it past Hinkie to move down while picking up a future first rounder. If not, I do think Saric as a stash player is appealing since we aren't expected to be great next year.

As you see in my most recent post, if James Young falls, I'm predicting Hinkie trading for him. Too much potential, alpha scorer (even though I was wish he would have been beta at times last year), and he'd be able to make mistakes with the rest of this young team. Exum and MCW would get him wide open 3s all next year.

i want Stauskas with one of the later picks. He would be ideal next to MCW and Wiggins. Anyone opposed to taking him at 10?

Think Nik S. would be perfect fit and he's in the same tier as the other guys at the 8 through 13 slot
