Not sure what Joe's path to playing is. He's not a PG, they just gave Furkan that contract and they love Thybulle.
I get that Furkan signed for a pretty fair number but Joe playing well is why teams tend to shy from giving out contracts like that. When you draft guys you kind of need to give them a path to playing time. He should be tradable at that number though as long as he's shooting well.
Joe will probably start the year outside the rotation and will have to take advantage when someone gets hurt.

I already like Joe more than Korkmaz and Thybulle. Both of them need a huge offset and honestly aren’t that good. Milton has been suss lately and him starting as the PG will cause trouble down the road. He has a value contract which is fine.
Korkmaz is a boom or bust performance type player each game and it’s more bust than boom. Thybulle needs Steve Nash to be on the court.
Sell high before they become nothing of use.
I rate better basketball players as should everyone else.

Re: The Preseason. All of it.
Joe 6”4” with a 6”8” long wingspan. Good lateral mover (underrated first step) good awareness defensively and offensively. Knows how to be involved in the play. Wirey strong with good defending standing height (wingspan) allows him to defend larger.
For me go smaller (on ball defender). Doesn’t work out who cares it’s a great experiment imo
He’s the second best shooter in the team (that form is pure as can be).
I really do think Maxey and Joe are the essential keepers and will carve out nice roles on our bench long term.
Thybulle is horrible on offense at every level and Korkmaz has more than enough opportunity to be consistent which he’s the furthest thing away from that.
I like my role players to be good at what they do and be consistent at it.
Maxey - 6th man spark plug. Bring the energy and the pace especially after the half
Joe - 3+D Def Guard (switch onto the wing on offense)
Sweet done deal.

Kate Scott and Zumoff, Alaa as the odd man out would have been the better move for me.

Re: The Preseason. All of it.
The starting unit is missing the ball handling and rebounding Ben, Tobi has to step up on this two aspects.
Not being mentioned but Green or Thybulle’s size at SF is a big issue

Personally, I think we should slide Joe to Furk’s role then trade Furk for someone like Justin Holiday.
We have too many SGs who can’t dribble.
These SGs are OK if you have an alpha PG, like Dame or Harden who they can just spot up and shoot 3s like those Morey’s Rox squad like Mclemore, Gerald Green and etc.

Re: The Preseason. All of it.
Isaiah Joe has better handles than Milton. Furk and Milton are expendables
Niang-Drummond has good chemistry
Milton-Seth backcourt is OK if u have Biid and Tobi
Until proven otherwise, Maxey is a 14ppg 10FGA player to me. I think he can pad more points but his efficiency will drop.
We’re not missing anything with Ben on offense. Actually, we maybe better. But we’re missing his rebounding and defense.
Entry pass to bigs and bigs DHO are high TO rate actions that we need to tighten up

Re: The Preseason. All of it.
Milton’s biggest weakness he’s lackadaisical. Ben and Embiid covered a lot of his shortcomings.
With the trio, Shake can attack close outs with less defensive pressure, a big backdraft of space and spot up for wide open shots.
I too want to move korkmaz for either a scorer off the bench or a better spot up shooter. Holiday is a good choice.
I do want Simons as the Curry replacement to add.
One that is critical for me towards Morey is that cycling young fringe talent over should be when necessary. We’ve seen the best of Milton, Thybulle and Korkmaz.
Reed probably won’t make it fwiw. And Springer is G League bound.
I’d rather have Joe + Maxey long term. There’s valid roles for both that both can play well consistently with playing time.
It’s on Doc to see the bleeding obvious though.
- Maxey 6th man, more minutes after the half.
- Joe as the 3+D guard on defense, and wing composite on offense. Better ballhandler and initiator than Korkmaz will ever be, better shooter and much better defensive awareness... basically a better basketball player.
If I see Korkmaz/Green ever attempting to shot create again, Rivers should be put into a cannon and pointed in the direction to wherever Ben went.

Re: The Preseason. All of it.
Missed the game too, but seems Maxey had a good game. Had a nice stepback 3, and had 5 assists, nice! I think , atleast for now, he´s better suited as a 6 man. He´s still learning, so maybe we shouldnt pressure him as an starter. That way he can raise his confidence, and score a lot of points against the bench. The problem is Shake is ass as pg, so there´s that too...

Re: The Preseason. All of it.
yeah Maxey atm is better as a guy who just goes and gets his. In the starting lineup; he has mouths to feed. Doc needs him to be Rondo...and he's not. Same issue with Shake. He is best as an off ball gunner who can attack a close out...not the PG. Doc is trash lol And Morey is hoe.

I think Maxey could easily average 14 off the bench for the year if he was given a consistent role

Re: The Preseason. All of it.
Shake is not athletic enough to play with the ball in his hands. Been saying it for years and without Simmons it's clear as day. Trade him if you can get a second rounder that has good odds to be a top 40 selection. He's not even that good as a spot up shooter anymore for some reason. If we don't trade him, I'd prefer him to not be in the rotation and be around only in case of injuries.

His handles is bad. He should play off ball. Thats why he should start because he’s not going to be asked to create unlike with the second unit.
With the starting unit, its just seth curry DHO then dump the ball to Biid.
With the second unit, he has to create on dribble drives with maxey and its troubling for him.
He is not that good but we can use him just need to put him in the right context to shine
