Seems like his scumbaggery has mostly gone under the radar, but I’m sure that has a lot to do with him playing on an irrelevant team in a non major market. Would him being traded here cause any problems in the locker room? Because if not he’s a pretty great for what we need and probably wouldn’t cost a ton given that it’s already been reported that he won’t be returning to Charolette.

I would never want a guy like that in my team, even if they assured me that we would be champions. There are more important things than being champions.

I think it would still likely be Tobias and Bridges. Bridges’ contract isn’t big enough unless we are taking back Hayward as well.

I'm down with Miles Bridges if the price is right. That price needs to factor in the media backlash and future risk of suspension or legal issues.

It's risky, but could be the move that puts us over the top.

Than you slide Tobi to fourth option . Or 3rd option by commitee(Tobi,Oubre,Bridges). That makes us scary but with ball handling/playmaking still a weakness.

Lol if I was to guess Bridges would have already been down the floor on that break while Tobi dribbled the ball up the floor (the play tobi got blocked twice). He's just on another level athletically than Tobi; quicker , stronger , more vert. Bridges would be the best athlete on the team with Oubre being a close second.

I remember a few seasons ago something similar happened where the sixers had a chance to win a close game against the Celtics. Tobi ends up with the ball above the 3pt line with Horford defending him. Al horford completely shut him down and Tobi was not even able to get a shot off.

Whats supposed to make a tweener forward dangerous on offense. Is that tweener being too quick or explosive for bigs to guard them and too big and strong for smaller wings. Tobi because of his lack of explosiveness, average length and lack of a bag gets shut down by good defenders time and time again.

I may be overhyping Bridges ability a little after a bad Tobi game but I have very little doubt that Bridges wouldnt be able to put the ball on the floor and explode past Horford from the peremeter or beat any celtics player down the floor for a easy transition. dunk.

You guys want to bring in a scumbag that
a) isn't any better than Tobias, so I don't think massively improves this team's odds,
b) would be a massive distraction in this media market, and
c) would make the team less enjoyable to root for by anyone with even a grain of a conscious

No thanks.

I can understand and respect your stance on this. I'm conflicted on it personally. Let me say this though...I'm willing to bet that the league is chock-full of scumbag players. Bridges just happened to get caught up in the wrong moment and now he's publicly known as a scumbag. With that said, these guys are young, they're millionaires, and there's no telling the type of $hit they are pulling behind closed doors. Allen Iverson said it himself back in the day. "I was a 20-year-old kid, you give me a million dollars, and I didn't know how to act." I'm not in any way advocating for Miles Bridges. I'm just saying that there are a ton of scumbag players in this league that are doing dirty, scumbag stuff on the daily and just not getting caught. Just because he got caught doesn't make him any more of one than the guy who isn't getting caught.

Again, I respect your stance on this. I would love nothing more than for the league and this team to have nothing but high profile players with great work ethics and attitudes. The league would be a much better place if everyone had the mindset and character of Tyrese Maxey.

As I said before, I go back and forth on this. Joel aside from his antics seems like a high character guy. Melton does too, we know Tyrese is, we know Tobias is. I think the same can be said for Nic Batum, he's a family man. Paul Reed seems like a good kid, same with Springer. Korkmaz=family man trying to provide, Pat Bev? Thug on the court, but he's probably just trying to survive. Maybe you're right about Bridges. You make a great case and I'm in no position to argue that. What he did was and is inexcusable. He was dealing with a "catch a case" type of female and he fell for it when he should have just walked away. That's what real men do. They don't go punching on their women.

I do believe in change, and I do believe in second chances, but these guys are living the life of ultimate privilege and I feel like that privilege should be revoked when they behave like that. The other side of the coin is that maybe Bridges is deeply remorseful for what he did and wants to change.

I asked the question because I genuinely don’t know if he/the situation would be a distraction. If it would be it’s an easy no for me(I assume sixers employ people that do research with that/would put out feelers for reaction 1st). I won’t argue with people that have the stance of not wanting him…that’s a whole different discussion. But I don’t think there’s doubt he’d make us better.

But also not sure why people keep talking as if it’s Bridges over Tobi. Tobi wouldn’t be involved in a Bridges trade. They’d start together. It’s about Bridges being better than Batum.

Maxey
Melton
Bridges
Tobi
Jo
Oubre and Batum both get 20+ mins off the bench with Reed and RoCo getting 15+. Pat Bev cleans up the few mins left.

Korkmaz, Martin, OKC ‘26 1st and ‘24 2nd for Bridges.

fan of the shops and (the Mavs) paying them a visit (and a question)..If they don't find a better fit/player...what do you think about changing for DDR...?I don't think it was a high price, thinking about Korkmaz/ Morris/House+FRP Protected... He would give them an extra ball handler and he is an elite scorer... what do you think?

I don’t think many Sixers fans want DDR. The fact that’s he’s 34. Can’t shoot three’s , and looking for a big contract, really takes him out of the picture for Philly. Now that he’s dissed Philly saying he wants the Nicks or Heat pretty much kills any chance he comes here.

I'd be good with adding him provided he's willing to accept a smaller role. That said, the fit obviously isn't optimal. The Sixers do need someone that can provide on ball creation to take some of that pressure off of Maxey and run the show when he's off the floor, but as a clear cut 3rd option, DeRozan's lack of both shooting and defense are pretty problematic.

If my choice is stand pat or DeRozan though? Sure.

Quick question. What do people think of a Patrick Beverly for Shake Milton trade sometime around late January?

Bev actually holds some clout in the lockerroom which outweighs any on court production Shake would provide if we’re being honest.

Agree, I was such a staunch Shake supporter during his time here, but at this point, I would not trade Beverly for him. Beverly has a charisma to him that you just want on your team. He's also not going to ghost in the playoffs. Beverly will be there in whatever form we need him in.

Is Markkanen an upgrade over Tobias, yes. Is he big enough to include all those picks? Absolutely not!
As a Sixer fan this is an easy pass. Even if Markkanen was an iron man, this would be an overpay, and he’s no iron man.

Should the sixers be interested in a disgruntled Quentin Grimes?

Can someone ask Nurse off the record about Anunoby and Trent? And then report the findings second hand in a roundabout way?

"Sources with knowledge of the situation say the coaching staff are fans of Anunoby and Trent, which could influence front office decision making as the deadline approaches..."

Something like that.
