No thanks.
I can understand and respect your stance on this. I'm conflicted on it personally. Let me say this though...I'm willing to bet that the league is chock-full of scumbag players. Bridges just happened to get caught up in the wrong moment and now he's publicly known as a scumbag. With that said, these guys are young, they're millionaires, and there's no telling the type of $hit they are pulling behind closed doors. Allen Iverson said it himself back in the day. "I was a 20-year-old kid, you give me a million dollars, and I didn't know how to act." I'm not in any way advocating for Miles Bridges. I'm just saying that there are a ton of scumbag players in this league that are doing dirty, scumbag stuff on the daily and just not getting caught. Just because he got caught doesn't make him any more of one than the guy who isn't getting caught.
Again, I respect your stance on this. I would love nothing more than for the league and this team to have nothing but high profile players with great work ethics and attitudes. The league would be a much better place if everyone had the mindset and character of Tyrese Maxey.
As I said before, I go back and forth on this. Joel aside from his antics seems like a high character guy. Melton does too, we know Tyrese is, we know Tobias is. I think the same can be said for Nic Batum, he's a family man. Paul Reed seems like a good kid, same with Springer. Korkmaz=family man trying to provide, Pat Bev? Thug on the court, but he's probably just trying to survive. Maybe you're right about Bridges. You make a great case and I'm in no position to argue that. What he did was and is inexcusable. He was dealing with a "catch a case" type of female and he fell for it when he should have just walked away. That's what real men do. They don't go punching on their women.
I do believe in change, and I do believe in second chances, but these guys are living the life of ultimate privilege and I feel like that privilege should be revoked when they behave like that. The other side of the coin is that maybe Bridges is deeply remorseful for what he did and wants to change.
