Re: The Sixerfan1976 Draft Thread (Update Pg. 3)
i think AI NOT coming back was pretty much a given anyways...it was IMO a last chance pawn to try and rejuvenate interest in the team and sell some tickets last season.
If Curry was a head coach i wouldnt be too happy...but as an assistant im all for it.
he has experience both as a player and coach...and has a D 1st mentality.
this staff is certainly an upgrade from the constant mediocre ones in EFJ,Okoren, Lynam

I'd like Mix to coach Ed Pinckney on how to break down a basketball game.

back in the days when he was playing with the Raptors, Michael Curry was rumoured to be ratting out his teammates to Kevin O'Neil...not too fond of the guy.
I always thought his defense was overrated, but maybe it is because I didn't watch him when he was younger...
As a coach, he never defined or explained to Richard Hamilton or Allen Iverson how they possible can co-exist or their roles on the team either...even if he is an assistant, I won't hold my breath

I don't know about The Mayor as an assistant coach, but I would love to have him back doing color commentary. I heard the reason he left the broadcast team was because he asked for more money and rather than negotiate comcast just dropped him and brought on Salmi on the cheap. My source on this goes through 3 cases of PBR a week so I don't know how accurate that is.

Yeah, Comcast is cheap like that, so I believe it.

Lawrence Frank didnt get a head coaching job..not sure why they didnt add him...maybe they come back to him later.
I saw Izzo if he takes the job at CLE wants him to be his lead assistant.
I read somewhere that Eric Snow will probably be added to Izzo's staff. That would be a nice opportunity for him.

I wouldn't want to be a part of that experience. The list of failed college coaches is larger then the list of college successes.

Gives him legitimate coaching experience in the NBA. He needs that coming from the broadcast booth. As an example, take a look at Mark Jackson. His lack of a legitimate coaching background isn't helping him land a job.

SF... we're now under two weeks until the draft... are you hearing anything new on the trade front? Is Thad still the bait that is being used to get back into the 1st Rd of the draft?

nothing new..still a chance of Indy or Toronto to get another top 15 pick...personally I think if they cant get Aldrich they may go late first/early 2nd for Jerome Jordan. Alabi will probably go around 20.
things will be quiet til their draft board is ironed out(after Turner of course) as well as other teams. Workouts are important.....
I still think we move Thad...correct.

Obviously they've yet to have workouts, but what's the initial thoughts/strategy behind the invites of Cousins/Favors?
Are they looking incase one(read:Cousins) falls? Or are they pondering, even somewhat the potential of trading back into the top-5(read:Minnesota, they need a swing man. And while Iguodala doesn't bring the floor game Turner does, he pretty much brings the same thing).

If we get Turner and Jordan, I'll be thrilled. Huge fan of both players. In my opinion, we found of starting SG and Center for the future in Turner and Jordan.

Dedicated, I honestly don't get you. You bash Iguodala daily. Saying he has inflated stats, that he is the king of mediocrity, and just an average player. But yet you think we can get a Top 5 pick for him?

i dont think they are actively pursuing top 5...probably too rich since they want to see holiday, turner, iguodala play together.
i think getting to 10-15 is doable but may cost thad and maybe one other player....getting to 20-40 may cost thad and you probably get a guy back that can help you somewhere.

Any teams we are looking at specifically in that 20-40 range?

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Draft Thread (Update Pg. 4)
I am not a fan of trading Thad straight-up for a pick between 20-40. If that happens, I'll once again begin to question Stefanski. I get that Thad doesn't have much of a future with us BUT he is all of 22 years old and averages 13+ PPG while not having plays drawn up for him. I'd rather keep him and have him help us win a couple of games this year (we are pushing for the playoffs, right?) rather than move him in a deal for a 2nd Rd big who may or may not see the floor.

I agree with this. If he's traded for less than a lotto pick it will seem like a failure from our standpoint (unless "our guy" is there). Worst case seems to be him having a good season and us letting him walk, but I think a S&T when he's a RFA doesn't seem out of the question. Starting to think a Gortat + filler for Young S&T could be beneficial for each team if we end up keeping him. Young could fill Rashard's role plus a bit more IMO, while bringing some youth to that team.
